I have said it before, and I know a lot of you have said the same.

This is my all time favourite Sheffield United team, this bunch of grafters, just good, honest lads.

Since Chris WIlder and Alan Knill came in, we have all been on a journey back to the very top tier of English football.

We had six long years in the wilderness and came close a few times to escaping, then that darkest of seasons when we couldn't get past the halfway point.

Chris Wilder said, (like a lot of managers when they first arrive), that he wanted to get the club back to "where it should be", but the difference is, he meant it. It's not just a job to Chris Wilder.

Straight out of League One as top dogs, and I think that without the Paul Coutts injury we would have had a good chance of back-to-back last season.

Promoted at the second attempt.

Now we are taking our brand of football to the Premier League, the journey still isn't over!

Agree they are my all time favourite too but the Bassett and Warnock teams were equally grafters and honest.

No doubt the PL pundits will come out with the same cliches we received when Warnock was manager like
‘SU will be tough because they play to their strengths”.......don’t all teams play to their strengths?
‘SU will outwork every other team in the division”.....don’t other clubs work?
‘SU are so organised, tough, uncompromising playing a physical”...we hardly have any physicality in the team.
‘SU will be delighted if they finish 4th from bottom”....the staff including Wilder will be aiming for higher than that and believe it too.

This current team are not just grafters but play some “beautiful football” too....that wasn’t the case under Bassett and Warnock.

The initial media reaction is one of the things I’m looking forward too....pundits will be gob smacked when we technically outplay some PL teams, also the nation are going to discover just how special Chris Wilder is....can’t wait.

Adkins spouted bollocks about a three year plan and look at all the behind-the-scenes development at the academy etc. to deflect his complete lack of success.

CW came along and grabbed the task that lay ahead by the throat, took no prisoners and now stands proudly at the head of a stella achievement. The story has not ended yet...the Premier League and our future awaits. COYRAWW !!!

Seriously don't think that I could take another playoff. Went to all of them apart from the Crystal Palace one. We sneaked in late to qualify for that one and we'd a holiday booked.

Watched it in a bar in Sorrento with some other Blades who'd miscalculated as well. Never forget they had a young lad with them about ten years of age. Kids of that age are normally full of optimism and belief that their team is the best.

This lad looked up at me before the kick off and said " We've no chance mester ". I had to wipe a tear away as I shook his dads hand and said " You're bringing him up a true Blade ".
