The derby

if rohl comes and has a go at us think we win comfortably but doubt he will for this one 1 - 0 to united moore to get the winner

The last time I recall Wednesday being the underdog they beat us 4-0 on boxing day.
It's a Derby game all form and planning goes out of the window.
I’d say they’ve been the underdog in pretty much every derby since 2000 (except for bouncing day).

I don’t actually see much pressure on us - we’re ticking along at over 2 points a game, despite having had to completely rebuild the squad in the summer.

In comparison, they are massively underperforming compared to their fans’ pre-season expectations and will be back in a relegation fight again pretty soon if they don’t start winning more often.

Ideally if we get a good result midweek, I think we can really get after them on Sunday without too much to lose.

Can we talk about Tuesdays game first?

Rest Souzza Blaster Souttar and Cooper for Saturday play chumps like Davies Brewster JLT and Shacks and have us primed like coiled springs to hammer the blue and white cunts on Sunday

I am thinking about Tuesday's match and you should too!
If Wilder has any sense he will not have mentioned the derby - most successful managers say "one game at a time , never think beyond the next match" or words to that effect.
You can't expect players to concentrate on their preparation for the next match if you distract them with stuff about the following one.

I'll be missing the game as our annual European football trip has been organised for next weekend - for the first time in about 20 years it doesn't include any football! Having seen Harrogate Town beat Wrexham today I mused over the possibility of playing them in the 3rd round and this prompted me to watch highlights of the preseason friendly - which as happens with Youtube led me into highlights of bouncing day. Hoping for a similar result.
Incidentally I was a bit fed up not being able to get a ticket for the Harrogate game. I did leave it until Saturday afternoon to buy one but I've never failed previously.

How do you know so much detail about them?
He openly admits to “watching most of their games” then calls Blades fans “pigs” when they have opposing views to him. Strange

Any result is possible, pretty much like any Champ game.

Most of the Wendy friends and colleagues I have aren't remotely hopeful but that doesn't mean much in reality.

Agree that's normally the case but this season is different to any of our previous seasons in the Championship in that we just don't look like conceding.
It's obviously not a fluke or good luck. Although our defence comes under pressure at times, our goalie usually has little to do.
It's the first time, probably ever watching the Blades, where I don't feel nervous thinking the opposition will score a late goal against us.
Also strangely, again for the first time ever, I don't feel that nervous about us playing in a Steel City derby.

I'm becoming more and more confident the most any opposition in this league can possibly score is ONE goal.

Think it will be like all our other home games, apart from Luton where we were brilliant and looked like champions.
Think we'll be solid and efficient again, probably a 1-0 or 2-0 at the most.

The only grounds for optimism for Wednesday is that they are really inconsistent,
can play like relegation fodder but then other times look like play-off contenders. So it's not a forgone conclusion.

At the moment the game against Bristol City is more important. A positive result will be great. One thing is for sure Sir Chris will make sure our players are up for it against wendy.

My accurate prediction is Anstonblade saying it will be a very nervous start by united against a confident Wednesday side with very few chances resulting in 0-0 at half time, the second half will start in the same manner until Wednesday deservedly getting a goal meaning united will have to commit more in an attacking sence and are hit on the break making it 0-2, we try hard but just don't have the skill and inevitably concede a third in the 93rd. minute.
For what it worth my thoughts are we will win by the odd goal but I bow down to Anstonblades superior knowledge and confidence.

It will be a tough game
They press well and move the ball about quickly
They don't have a lot of quality though they do have athleticism
I can't see anything other than a shocker of a bore draw if I'm honest
When I’ve seen them previously they actually ironically remind me of Watford. Some strong quick players & as you say like to try to play.

I think there’s just a real lack of quality in their team. Bannan is the one who makes everything tick for them. A player I think they’re lucky to have. The one thing we have to try and expose is how bad they can be at the back.

People thinking it’s going to be a walk over need to give their head a wobble. They can be good on their day (Plymouth, West Brom, Brentford) and they can be awful (Sunderland/ Watford).

They’ll be up for this game.

I hate derbies. The atmosphere of hate between the 2 sets of supporters. I prefer it when we are underdogs.
