Any concerns should be put at ease by this:

Blackburn, Forest (both Championship...), Charlton and Bolton. All big clubs and all of which wanted our new gaffer according to Alan Nixon, and he DEFINITELY knows his stuff about Bolton, Blackburn and Forest. Charlton we all know about through the clubs.

I can understand the concerns about him needing a bit of time, him never managing in League One... But apart from that I'm not sure why there should be any.

He's a blade, he understands the passion, the crowd, the attitude the players need to have. He knows we appreciate honesty. He knows that if he gets his team attacking and giving 100% the crowd will give it the team back. As a manager you're only as good as your last season, in which he pissed the league with a side which were close to extinction. That's impressive by any standards. He gets his teams playing good attacking football and builds a strong spine for the team to play around (remember what a spine is?).

No more players holding us to ransom, no more silly wages on very average league one players. Time for a young hungry squad with a splash of experience and know how. Time to stand up and be counted. Time for us to have a team to be proud of and one that we can relate to.

The budget WILL be the biggest in the league even if it's been shortened, there are a lot of wages going this summer and a bit to play with. Only MK Dons and Charlton will come close and Charlton are a joke club.

One thing is for sure we won't lose 4-0 first game this season, and that's a starting point :-)

I didn't want to see Adkins lose his job and I'm not a clapper by any stretch but the more I hear from and about Wilder the more I'm excited for next season.

Oh dear. More Bladey bollocks about he's a fucking Blade and passion. As though other managers and clubs don't have passion? Embarrassing, parochial claptrap.

As for the thought that links with Bolton, Blackburn, Charlton are some sort of recommendation...hate to mention it, but they also chose the managers who have failed them so badly that they are looking for replacements!

The curious logic of the Bladey Blade knows no bounds...

The one thing in common....They're all fucked financially. He can run a tight ship and that's why King kev has made his moved... its fingers crossed time again

I read the OP and thought, "I wonder how long it takes Pinchy to come in and make this thread unreadable." You have nothing to offer. Can we release you?

Of course. I'll come over and watch a bit of Hoof and Hope on your patch...

See what I mean. You have nothing to offer. I don't post much because being so far away, I know I don't have much of relevance to say. You lack this self-awareness.

Time for me to log out.
He knows the only way to rub even more salt in the wound of Blades at this point is to start slating Warnock, Bassett and the supporters.

It's not a coincidence he's chosen to pop up just as we finish 11th in the league. I have never come across a single Blade that has spoken as he does about those two.

Just a sad Spireite on the wind up.

Shut up you fucking hampton

With charlton and Bolton still looking for managers it gives him a headstart with recruitment, they'll be attractive clubs to many lower league players which is a plus I suppose. He must have discussed budgets with charlton too so he knows what he's up against, intersting to see if he makes reference to it during to season, if not I'm guessing ours will be bigger.

Having a Blade in charge does help, because it means they're less likely to leave if he is successful. It means that when Wilder talks about United to a potential signing, the passion and drive that Wilder has for the club might be the factor that gets a player to come, over say another manager. Having a Blade in charge means that the fans will cut that said manager a lot more slack than they would if they were from anywhere else in the country. Warnock sadly was still able to get fans backs up because of his nature but had he not being a Blade I think the fans would have turned on him during the tricky times more so than they did. In derby games its certainly an advantage having a Blade in charge, for obvious reasons. So whilst its not essential I consider it a major bonus!

I know this makes me a bit unique but I am rather pleased Wilder's appointment has brought you back from your self-imposed exile!

Mr Pinch-Hitter has quite an extensive repertoire on that old one-tune banjo you know.

Ahhh.. the one tune banjo, that takes Bert back to the old BU days when Bert called puppet that.

Thing I've liked most was Knills comment in his RS interview "we run the opposition down, we will run them off the pitch"

Our lot could just about manage walking football.

Being a Unitedite should at the very least give Wilder a bit more breathing room in terms of the patience than perhaps any other appointment would have been given. If we'd have had the Turkish fella in charge, you could quite easily see a situation where after three months in midtable the knives would be out, alongside other likely criticisms that he doesn't understand the club or sound like us. Wilder's much more likely to get the benefit of the doubt with fans because of his connection to the club, which is no bad thing in my opinion.

I liked Alan knill in the press conference no intention of trying to crash wilders party just happy to take it all in. Strikes me as a proper football man well respected with loads of lower level experience. Or am I just seeing the good UN everything atm now that tosser has gone ?

My one dream since bein in this division is that we will one day work harder than the opposition, press high to the edge of their box and not sit back on the half way line. When and only when you do this will your better players make a difference. Wilder likes the ball to be moved quickly and in triangles looking at videos people have put up. Done right and this really could be good.
