Apologies if anyone has posted anything similiar but,

As a follow on from the Please don't buy any of this s***e thread, and in response to Billyblade's situation, (his lads keeper kit) am I one of the few who has difficulty comprehending the mindset of the Club in reference to the Club shop?

I too, went down to the Lane shop (start November) and bought the blue away goalkeeper kit for my little lad's birthday in late december. However the socks were sold out. Standard response it was all down to the supplier and we don't think we'll get anymore in this season. Only 4-5 year olds and Adult sizes were left.

There wasn't many kits (shirt and socks) left for the juniors (8-12 years old) but loads of adult sizes XL XXL etc etc. I asked them why so many Adult Goalkeeper kits and does anyone actually buy it. Seriously, Come on.....does any adult actually buy the full goalkeeper kit?

Its the quota that the supplier sends us. Really,.. I mean do the club not have a say in what they are ordering?

Fast forward to week before Christmas, I thought what to get the old man, I know lets get him a nice United polo shirt.
Sorry, Sir we haven't got one in XL or L for that matter, but we've got quite a lot of XXXL and small, will that do?

No fear, there's loads of gnomes to choose from.

I wasn't alone there seemed to be several people conveying messages on their phones to relatives explaining similiar predicaments.

Given that christmas which is arguably the second most profitable period for merchandise after the initial kit launch, it made me wonder how much this short sighted ideology is costing the club in revenue.

Unfortunately, the club shop appears to have not grasped the basic concept of economics, i.e supply and demand.

Finally, to Billyblade, don't worry mate your lad hasn't missed owt, the quality of the goalkeeper kit being supplied by adidas is dreadful. I'll know better next time.

Anyone else had similiar experiences or is it me just having a neurotic breakdown

I bought some white home socks for my kid - turned out to be just bog standard white adidas socks - nothing to do with SUFC. Hope they are paying us a fortune for the privilege, other wise Mr Branigan...............where's the personalisation???

Come back Suggs and Burgins where you could buy all things Blades and they would have it in stock . Sorry to say but the SWFC club shop puts ours to shame . Embarrassing and disappointing .

If it is true that we are on a quota, then someone at the club wants fucking shooting for agreeing such a deal.

It goes against every principle of the free market.

Would be very interested to know exactly what the deal is.

Can you imaging getting through to the league cup final and being told in March - sorry lads - shirts/hats/scarves all sold due to quota reached.

FWIW - there's a hell of a lot less that I would consider purchasing in that shop BosEck :o

In one of the kit threads in the summer a Brentford fan started posting something similar to this. He claimed that the Bees had to prove themselves to some extent to Adidas in order to get their own kit this year i.e. not a standard template.

Not sure of how true this is but I think this was also one of the reasons Barnsley ditched/got ditched by Nike

It used to be standard practice that the first year you had a template with minimal customisation, but year 2 onwards, more in terms of a bespoke kit...

I understand our deal to be similar.

With the socks, they are just a template sock, should be able to source from another club or sports shop... Know someone who did that in order to complete a kit for a mascot.

Re: everything else, I'll raise it with the club again... Don't forget what people said though, move to a "proper" designer and all will be rosy ;)

What utter drivel. SWFC sold out of all home kits and didnt even sell the away kits until about a month before Christmas, the also produced a DVD of one game where wednesday beat leeds 6-0. Our club shop may be wank but suggested that the snortbeasts puts our to shame is embarassing.

September 2014 , the club shop tell me we can't get a medium current home shirt until early December. How pathetic. Offered us small or XXXL.
Unbelievable that you need to wait like that, til December, for a home shirt in medium.

It does strike me as bizarre... given that we've made what can only be described as a MASSIVE step up in brand. A 10 week wait greeted me when looking for a medium home shirt. Oh well... at we've not got fucking Sondico.

Strikes me as bizarre that any self respecting Blade would go anywhere near the Grunters shop :oops::rolleyes:

S5Blade , i found that DVD in the SWFC club shop for a pound.

Thats better than a poke in the eye with a shitty stick , laughed the assistant.

A couple of days after christmas , i walked back into the club shop. Do you have that stick , i asked.:D

Their shop layout does piss all over ours it has to be said. The products on sale is a different matter

I had the "pleasure" of going in a few years back. My piggy mate went to buy some tickets so I had a wonder around the shop whilst he was sorting them.

It's set out like you'd expect a football club's shop to be.

Really don't know why some people "support" the club, all they do is find something to moan moan moan about regarding anything from not signing messi to the the tea lady
