The Budget

Great. Move from Bramall Lane. Is that better than McCabe being there?

Never said it was. I'm just presenting a possible scenario. Having said that though, if you'd asked the Citeh fans about the move from Maine Road just before the move and now, I'd bet you'd get two different answers from 95% of them.

I asked the question, I didn't day you'd said it.

Would it be worth it to be rid of McCabe? In your opinion.

The Prince seems to think he's entitled to rent the ground and other facilities on the already agreed long term leases. They were agreed on the basis of on a peppercorn rent I believe - which he's happy to continue honoring.McCabe would be left with the bills for these facilities, yet standing to gain nothing from any promotion windfall. The assets would surely lose value if there is no football team present; they aren't worth much to anybody but a football team.Whether this manoeuvre is legal I have no idea: he was supposed to buy the property when buying out McCabe's 50%.

whether or not this is permissible under the agreement is what will be decided at the trial of the matter.

As I have said in the letter to shareholders thread, the Prince is trying to exploit a loophole in the agreement (which, unfortunately for McCabe, is a hole that could have been plugged with different drafting).

As for Ken Booth/Rotherham scenario (really Ken Booth's sons, I understand, but I digress) I get the impression that the leases cannot be broken by either party unless the Prince is forced to buy them: hence McCabe has issued proceedings.

As I've said before, I've got no interest in or side to take between the two. If you knock it down to bare bones it's two multi-millionaires trying to stiff each other. Meh.

Personally I'm not averse to change. Any one in the business world will tell you that you have to change to survive. The resistance to change usually comes from within and the business usually dies in these circumstances. So to answer your question I've got an open mind on the matter, who knows what the future holds?

You haven't answered it though. It's specific enough for yes or no. It's not a trap.

You've said often enough on here what you think the future holds. Why so coy now?

Tsk tsk Sean, Esablade probing-style tactics don't become you. If you want me to be blunt then OK I couldn't give a fuck if McCabe goes. Whether that's the Prince or his consortium or McCabe's buyers-in-the-wing I couldn't give a fuck either, It's time for a change.

One things for sure, your allegiance to McCabe is misplaced. He's not riding to our rescue because of his love of us, It's because he stands to lose a heck of a lot of money. This point should not be too difficult to grasp.

He actually stands to lose a hell of a lot more money. My sympathies over the initial losses are less than you think. However he entered into the partnership, as far as I'm concerned anyway, in good faith. I don't see why he should be shafted. Plus I don't want to move from BL. There aren't many great football grounds left, I prefer us to be in ours.

My concern is for the club. We can see with the share manoeuvre - to outsmart a business partner - no ones squeaky clean.

After saying that, and I have no idea if true, been told that Kev has a bomb to drop when the main case hits the court.

A bomb? And they won’t even allow flares in BL. Fucking hypocrite.

I agree. As far as I am aware, the two entered into a partnership, and it looks like PA has done something shady with UTB and UTB 2018, that KM was obviously unaware of at the time.

If this was all PA's idea, then it gives an indication into the character of the man, and if this was all the idea of his advisers, then it gives an indication into the character of his advisers and also his for going along with it.

Don't you think he deserves a portion of what he's put in over the years?
Especially as what he might be paid is £5 or £10m for his shares (?) and the value of the actual buildings/facilities he owns

Just to put it in perspective a £7 million budget puts us on a par with Rotherham’s budget for the season.

Is 7m Rotherham's wage budget for the year or transfer budget? If it's the latter hats off to them for giving it a go. I can't see it though.

Businessmen who spend their lives wheeling and dealing have no compunction in pulling one over their competitors. McCabe is no different.

Sympathy for these people? Wow, these concerns are a bit rich coming from you! ;)

Id love to ask the board why when clubs like Wolves, huddersfield, Bournmouth and now Forest can get investment through a new owner and they splash the cash we supposedly got the Prince in who back then was going to be a game changer we’ve ended up with absolute nothing. We are getting rid of players and have 1 loanee in.

I KNOW THERE IS THIS COURT CASE!

But why oh why or should I say what have us Blades done to deserve this.

When promoted I really thought we were going to see a change to the way we worked in the transfer market and that we’d keep and build on our top players. Blaaaaa!

People who form companies based in Nevis forgo any sympathy from me ;) but I've always felt that KMC supports the Blades as we do and has really put his money where his mouth is.
Dodgy dealing aside, I would still expect anyone buying buildings and facilities to at least buy them at the going rate rather than stitch up a supposed partner.

Well, we haven’t got Princey yet.... ;)

As to your question, I’d suggest the simple answer is no businessman wants to stump up £25 million before they start chucking money at buying players...neither does Princey by the look of it.

Yes, i'm aware......I was just putting in the opposing view to the claim i'd answered, that the Prince wouldn't put the money in to match McCabe's loan offer.

The stumbling block as I read somewhere was that McCabe wouldn't gift the £1.25 million, he wanted to loan it
The Prince going for full ownership didn't want to be owing McCabe for a loan he'd put in
