I was there last night and I want to sincerely aplogise to all the fans I called 'bore mongers' and hold my hands up and say you were right. I was absolutely shocked at what I saw last night and based on that want to take back all the things I said about fans being overly negative, pessimistic and cynical.

It's been posted everywhere else, so I will not bang on about it. But what a spineless, cluess and inept performance. The players were apathetic at best, but in truth showed a complete and utter lack of desire and passion. The lack of guile from the vast majority of these professionals and the manager beggars belief. I was at MK Dons a few weeks ago and the Stevenage debacle also and this was the final straw. it was much worse than all those. Simply terrible.

I'd offer to buy the my mislabled 'bore mongers' and anyone I've offended an ale, but I will not be going back to BDTBL this season, nor will I be travelling to any games. Might sound fickle, but the season is over in my mind. Like many have said, I just cannot see where the performances are coming from to go up and this has the same 'car crash' feeling as when we limped into the play offs under Blackwell, went down under Adams and stumbled towards Wembley last season. Fook off United.

though your comments are sarcastic (as usual ..... lowest form of wit and all that) Crawley thoroughly deserved their victory. The much better team. They were comfortable on the ball, attacked with pace, showed some neat touches and were a threat. They worked the keeper, Clarke was a real handful and they pass the ball well. Stark contrast to our misfits.

I like to think I'm a positive chap (alright I have a couple of well-known 'bêtes noires') but I can't take any comfort from last night at all. It was half-hearted, limp, gutless, aimless garbage. No vision, no variety. Little heart and still less brain. The last half hour was pure unadulterated Blackwellian Hoof. It was truly and indefensibly awful.

The support was positive and loud until 2/3 of the crowd walked out in frustration and despair. There are no excuses. We are owed five proper and committed performances in the immediate future. Is that too much to ask?

Can you not do vouchers of some sort? If so, I'll have a trawl back though your posting history. I'm sure you must have called me a cunt at sometime or another... ;)

Yes it was garbage. We played the long ball and compressed the attack into the last 18 yards and didnt give the wingers space or opportunity to run at their defence often enough. When he did have the ball in space, Flynn wasn't bad. So why the long ball? Is is because the team is shit scared?

Forte is not a striker, hes a winger if anything. Wouldn't Murphy be better in the middle?

Higginbottom is a centre half . I'd rather have seen Hill at left back and Weslake at RB. I know Westlake is crap

Fair play Olly for coming on and recognising things 'as they are'. Takes a lot to admit a few of us sadly were probably a bit closer to the truth. However technically you were right and are still right we did still have a chance and still do. Sadly the reality of our play means we have little to none when the games are played out on the pitch and not on paper.

I felt despite the table saying otherwise that trio of home 0-0's was the death knell and people could keep saying 'games in hands' and 'we can still do this'., Sadly my eyes told me we had no chance and unfortunately it seems like I was right. Would have loved to have been wrong.

In truth we have been dire most of the season and a few spozzy 1-0's have masked some dreadful performances. Yeah we have been up there but again when it comes to the crunch we bottle it. This time though the players are not good enough and it aint just about effort/passion but ability/brains. Sadly I would take just the former at the moment as they look like they don't give a rats arse.

As for Olly, don't give up! What else would you do on a Saturday?

Seriously I am kind of glad I opted against tickets for Crewe/Pompey when mates were wanting to go saying we will seal promotion in one of them. what a waste of money in tickets/hotel/travel that would have been. If we scrape into the playoffs I wont go away and will attend any home leg but we wont get to Wembley so don't have to worry about that. If we got there of course I'd go. I'm a sucker like the rest of us. The best cased scenario is now a 2 legged defeat to Brentford or Yeovil. In some ways I'd rather finish 7th but then even I have some hope that somehow we might scrape some kind of performance together. Sadly to do it for 3 games is beyond this sorry group and manager.

Can't wait for more in fighting, dreadful performances and another turgid performance and result on Saturday.

No, I'm quite happy for anyone else to trade beer for past insults. I could do with getting booyackered to help me forget this season.

Sorry to burst your balloon JD. I was taking about the name calling :D

Just goin past Wembley on the train

.............: shudder

Oh and that was the best performance of the 4 home games you could argue! It was certainly better than Carlisle I felt. At least we had a few efforts of note!

I was well geared up for Pompey, but balls to that now. I'll save the cash for the playoffs

Now just look here, Me. You truly are a pompous, arrogant, self-opinionated twat!

Oh..............really?..............thank you......a pint of Old Throssington's Footwarmer, please......and have one yourself..........

15 points, we're going up as champs?

This cannot be emphasised enough. The crowd fed off the little they were served up very well and backed the players until the game was so obviously lost (to me it was lost at 1-0 really, we were never going to score but I kept singing until well after 2-0). All that bollocks we've been told about how it was the fans' fault has been exposed as exactly that, bollocks.

Well done to Crawley for coming to have a go and not time wasting at every opportunity and trying to kill the game, and well done to Olle for having the balls to come on here to apologise.

I have never once said we will seal promotion. I'm not even sure I've ever said I want to go to any games.

A bit of an anecdote for, perhaps, some interesting perspective:

We went to watch our 'home' side BPA on Monday night (they were/are in with a mathematical chance of reaching the BSN play-offs following a promotion season last year) and after going 2-0 down, they fought back with a desire and fiery commitment that I have yet to see in any recent performance from a United side. They pulled a goal back, and shredded Oxford City's defence only to have a good goal ruled offside in the dying minutes.

My lad (home from the Yorks Reg) came along to the Ave for the first time, and - reflecting upon last nights game - said Avenue showed more character, passion & zeal than the Blades :( Summed it up perfectly for me!

Please can you properly address your balloon bursting. :D

Soz JD - it was graffiti on a train
My thumbs work cack on the iphone the best of times - must have hit the D instead of the B while i shuddered going past Wembley on the train - don't tell me they are miles apart on a qwerty - i know.
