I'm still enjoying our recent games more than last season

Yes the collapse at Wrexham was disappointing, but I have enjoyed our performances more in recent weeks than most of the games last season.
We have been going for it even when we are ahead, rather than taking the lead and trying to shut up shop. If we are wanting to make serious progress hoping to grind out one nil wins every week isn't the way forward.
Hopefully we'll strengthen the defence in January, but Wilder will avoid the temptation to return to the tactics of last season.

Scoring goals is fun to watch and bar the WBA game we have been banging in 2 or 3 per game.

We are much better attacking wise than we were last season, not sure why we didn't play like that last season.

I agree and that is what frustrated me so often last season. Derby away in particular I think is an example where we were far too cautious.

The difference is this season if we take the lead early we haven't immediately sat back and tried to defend the lead for the rest of the game.

But there is still a pattern of sitting back way to early in a game when we are in front. In my opinion, unless you have like a 5 goal cushion, continue doing what got you in front. I never could understand why you would change what's working.

As the saying goes if it ain't broke, don't fix it

I'm concerned that throwing away leads will push Wilder to be more conservative again once he gets his players in. The likelihood is we're likely to be going nowhere for a while so I really hope we continue with the attacking football that we have employed recently. Obviously it's frustrating throwing games away but I don't think we need to go back to last season's style and I don't think it will work with worse players.

Mad that we got 92pts last season and only scored 3 in a match once.

Let's hope for some strength and stability in January. Keep scoring the goals and learn how to keep them out the other end and control some games

And lo and behold Burnley, who were better than us defensively are, yet again, struggling in the Prem and will no doubt come straight back down. Sunderland/Leeds have made more progress by being on the front foot.
