Norwood & Fleck did absolutely nothing wrong today & played very well vs Millwall.

Fans like you that think they’d be better if they ran our club are more of the issue.

Chuck a load of youngsters out there that have never played together, that will cure everything.

We’ve just got a good point away from home vs a good side. A game we lost badly last season. Chill out for god sake

Norwood & Fleck did absolutely nothing wrong today & played very well vs Millwall.

They both started well against Millwall but Norwood's game went to pot a bit after about 35 minutes and Fleck faded badly in the second half.

I've got to say I thought Norwood was poor today. Two passes in particular, one in each half, an outside of the boot fuck up and a crossfield wonder pass when a simple sideways pass to Anel would have given us a 2 on 1. Nearly caught in possession as the last man as well when the ball rolled under his foot second half. He often gets unfair stick (IMO) but today I reckon it's justified.

Besic has become one of those Blades enigmas that actually gets better with every passing moment. Since his 2 starts for us, during which some seem to feel he proved himself a world beater, he’s actually got much better by starting just 13 games for Ferencvaros. And that was two full seasons ago.

So what you want is a CDM? No idea why Besic should be used as an example for that, he wasn’t good enough for us at the time and he record since supports that. Besic wasn’t even really that defensive, people just remember him as being good at tackling.

He was that good of a singing at the time he played no games, for nobody, after playing just twice for us. And as I said, he was more of a CM that was good a at tackling. For those two games at least.

We seem to think McBurnie needs the ball in the air as he can win it. He can't. He jumps shorter than he's stood. We need balls whipping into him, not for him to win in the air. That would be a start.

But he still managed to create both our goals. Interesting listening to JOCs appraisal of him before the game, effectively says without Ollie we don’t perform. He takes risks so is always liable to make errors but overall his contribution is usually positive.

And just to help you out with your knowledge of players :Besic has always been a DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER.

Any success that we have had in recent years, using the 3-5-2 system, has neither contained nor needed a CDM. With 3 central defenders, one of whom can step out, you shouldn't need a dedicated defensive player in midfield.

What we have had is a deep lying ping merchant (both Coutts and Norwood) and a proper box to box player in Fleck. He is the player that we need back to his best or who we need to replace. Hopefully Doyle can be that man.

I agree that we could do with another striker though. Brewster looks on it and hungry, but can he provide 15-20 goals if Sharp isn't fully fit? And Sharp's last injury has clearly taken its toll on him, which is a real concern. As for the rest, christ I want McB to succeed but he just seems to be so far away from the player that we signed, and then it's down to the young uns, both of whom are linked with moves anyway. I really wish we'd have pushed the boat out and gone for Jutkiewicz. I have always imagined seeing that bloke in a Blades shirt.

All I am saying is that it's Fleck's contribution that is letting us down in midfield, because he was the guy who used to bomb back and stick a foot in when needed. He just doesn't seem to have the legs now, where as Norwood never had them anyway, but still has some quality in his delivery and long passing.

We started season with 5 decent centre backs. Egan, Bash, Abel, Clark and Robinson. Today only two were fit. Hardly surprising our defence is not at its best. Injuries since second season in PL have been worst I can remember. Bad luck, training ground or something else? Whatever we just need a bit of a run with a settled defence. It looked good against Millwall.
