why weren’t the numbers on the balls displayed for everyone to see. Just watched recording and the balls are always displayed so everyone can see the numbers but not this time

Yeah and he just put the 4 balls in a row in the bag and just moved them from side to side, so they stayed in same order.

Didn’t see the draw as still travelling home, but Football Heaven just said that the balls were numbered, but the audience didn’t know which team had which number.

That sounds a bit far fetched, but if so, the balls could have come out in any order and the presenter could have named any team.

At least in the good old days, the warm balls in the bag was a decent conspiracy theory.

Obvious they wanted to keep the Manc teams apart
Which would be manipulation, and cheating... The FA should be investigated.. Its every fucking year, the London clubs get drawn apart, mancs, and even the scousers did back in the day..

It's not a coincidence in my mind.

Sorry to the conspiracy theorists but no way did those balls stay in exactly the same order as when he put them in

I’d like to know why the clear perspex “bowl” wasn’t used, the balls weren’t tipped into it, just the old velvet bag….

Why the fuck would Leon Osman rig the draw for whoever at the FA is desperate for a Manchester derby cup final?

Funny how no Blades fans thought it was fixed when we got Blackburn in the quarter final.

The easiest draw we could've got apart from Grimsby.
Yes but we knew the numbers and we saw the numbers each time a ball was pulled out BUT not this time

Sorry

But they did

I have re run the tape over and over and over and over

When he put the balls into the bag - if you run it super super slow - an arm (possibly Spanish?) comes over his shoulder , goes into the bag , and takes out the citeh and Utd balls - after the first semi is drawn , it reappears and puts them back in - as the arm withdraws back over Osmans shoulder , it pauses , ever so ever so slightly , and makes a wanking gesture before disappearing.

You have to slow it all down and examine - frame by frame to notice this - even then it’s all over in the blink of an eye 👁️

Fact

We’ve got to beat this set of Manc’s, just so we can unleash the two lads on the other set of Manc’s…we owe em that.

Id give my left nut, to see us beat Man U in the FA CUP final!!

Most bizarre cup draw I’ve ever seen. Same bloke puts them in and draws them out

mmmmmmmm

Most bizarre draw since... erm last year's semi finals where a confused looking Robbie Fowler did the same

To anyone that bothered, take a look at the semi finals over the last 50 years.

Stands out like a sore thumb.

Add to this, people would also scream conspiracy if we'd drawn Manchester United and Brighton had got Manchester City. In fact, if they wanted to ensure an all Manc final that would be the way to do it (the stronger side in City against the stronger threat in Brighton).

So the only way people would believe it wasn't fixed was if we'd drawn Brighton - a one in three chance.

When Brighton get two sent off leading 2-0 lose 3-2 with the winner coming after eight minutes injury time

You're missing the point, usually each team is given a number before the draw, not this time, so as a ball was drawn out ANY team could be called to suit, hence we didn't draw City , we were given them

Well, you could start by investigating the last 3 times both Manchester clubs reached the semi-final. They only got drawn against each other once, out of three occasions, when of course we all know that on average they should have been drawn against each other once out of three. There's grounds for investigation there, I think.

And then let's look at the wider picture. Obviously some years there are three or four big clubs reach the semis, or else only one, and the FA isn't bothered about them. But since 2011 there have been four other times where there were two demonstrably "big" clubs that the FA wanted to be kept apart. And just look at what happened.

In 2011, Man United and Man City played each other with Bolton v Stoke in the other.
In 2013, Chelsea and Man City played each other with Millwall v Wigan in the other.
In 2015, Reading v Arsenal and Aston Villa v Liverpool.
In 2021, Chelsea and Man City played each other with Leicester v Southampton in the other.

So we can do the FA on two counts - one, for continually rigging the draw by keeping the big sides apart; two, for being so bloody incompetent at it!

Sheffield United were given ball 4 at the moment Alan Shearer drew you out in the fourth game of the sixth round draw. Man City v Burnley was the first game drawn by Shearer, so Man City were ball 1. Man U v Fulham was the second game drawn, so Man U/Fulham were ball 2, Brighton or Grimsby had to be ball 3, Sheff U or Blackburn had to be ball 4. That's the way it's been done for at least 50 years - in every round, the order the matches are drawn determines the numbers for the next round.
