Which would be manipulation, and cheating... The FA should be investigated.. Its every [deleted] year, the London clubs get drawn apart, mancs, and even the scousers did back in the day..
It's not a coincidence in my mind.
Well, you could start by investigating the last 3 times both Manchester clubs reached the semi-final. They only got drawn against each other once, out of three occasions, when of course we all know that on average they should have been drawn against each other once out of three. There's grounds for investigation there, I think.
And then let's look at the wider picture. Obviously some years there are three or four big clubs reach the semis, or else only one, and the FA isn't bothered about them. But since 2011 there have been four other times where there were two demonstrably "big" clubs that the FA wanted to be kept apart. And just look at what happened.
In 2011, Man United and Man City played each other with Bolton v Stoke in the other.
In 2013, Chelsea and Man City played each other with Millwall v Wigan in the other.
In 2015, Reading v Arsenal and Aston Villa v Liverpool.
In 2021, Chelsea and Man City played each other with Leicester v Southampton in the other.
So we can do the FA on two counts - one, for continually rigging the draw by keeping the big sides apart; two, for being so bloody incompetent at it!
