Does it really matter. It's catchy, it got people singing and the atmosphere yesterday was great and a lot better than it has been.

Agreed, i think 2700 singing it yesterday says it's not wednesday song and L'pool were doing before them, and it wasn't from the Derby fans - done it at home a few times too on gangway D - think it will be a permanent one now so live with it - everyone was singing along and enjoyed it.

Sometimes you don't have to directly support the team at the match and can actually go to a match to enjoy yourself you know.

For me a Der-Der-Der song is a pig song. A load of noise in support of no-one in particular. As likely to lift the opposition as your own team. It just reflects a lack of imagination to get proper songs going.

Besides that, I like the things which distinguish us from Wednesday, and hate it when we try to sound like them - whether it was their idea originally or not.

Wordless songs are generic tat, sung by every plastic club across the country. If Wednesday want to be that type of club - fine. I don't want United to go the same way.

It's great that the atmosphere's picking up again - but please let's keep it United.

The S U F C part does distinguish it though doesn't it?

Whilst I agree that I wouldn't want our support to follow the 'plastic Wednesday' route, I think we need a song that comes in fashion and will be gone again in a few years if we're honest. I wouldn't want us to have more than that one song BUT I disagree completely that it picks up both teams. Imagine 25000+ Blades fans singing that on Friday night and tell me it won't intimidate Wednesday just a little.

Some of our songs have gone a little stale and folk don't sing them with the ferocity of the past few years. The 'Sheff United, Sheff United, Sheff United' one needs a break as many fans aren't reacting to it as much as they were. Obviously the GCB will always be special but we need a song that will make some din and keep the atmosphere bubbling sometimes. And the kids will love it - much as I like the Ched Evans song, I can't see many 6 year olds remembering the words!

UTB!

Like the new songs, or loathe them. I thought yesterday the away end at Pride Park was rocking and it made a good day even better.

There was a thread on here the other week about the youngster being self-styled Blades Ultra's and they whipped up the away support in to a frenzy with their passion and good natured attempts to get things going, and as a result we was cooking on gas, and i think the backing was superb, and helped the side no end
