Thank you Sander

We aren't going to replace anyone we sell with anything except free transfers an L1/L2 players. Extremely strong rumours that we have to sell Berge and others just to pay the bills. Doesn't mean we'll be automatically wank but it's back to bargains.

As for Sander, when he wanted to show it he was great.

Should build the team around him and convince him to stay for a push at promotion

In an ideal world I agree.....would be great.

Suspect you already know this......in the real world we'd risk having a massive points deductions....going into financial turmoil threatening our existence?
Note: Even with new billionaire owners.....we'd still need to stick to FFP rules or face punishment for effectively cheating.

No thanks....don't want any owners (new or current) playing Russian roulette with our club.
An option could be to increase admission prices to £100 ticket price per match and increase season tickets to £1000 for this season.
Wonder how many fans would show that level of ambition to keep the squad together?

Of course no fans will help to significantly increase our income to enable us to keep paying out massive wages.

I've not heard a single rumour but even I know about the reality of football business.

In the PL we were receiving 120 million a year from Sky.
In the Championship we receive about 7 million per year from Sky.

That is a massive drop in income.....common sense says we won't be able to afford paying out the massive wages.
So we need to offload the big earners......this is great news.....because it prevents us from serious trouble of points deductions and possible extinction.

Catch 22, we need players like him on form to get promoted but are financially fucked if we keep him and don't go up. The annoying thing is that if we sell him we'll probably take another mortgage out on his transfer fee payments.

Penalties are stupid. I love Sander. Hope we get what he's worth and use the money to buy twitter or something more realistic like Joe Rothwell and some Oil or something. UTB

Penalties give you the drama and are great for Sky TV as neutrals love them.

An alternative option that is fair is when teams are level after extra time then
The team that acquired more points in the league automatically wins the tie.

If that fairer rule was introduced then Forest would have still gone through to Wembley.

My guesstimate for the current season (and financial year) is a loss of between £10m and £20m, depending on the profit made on Ramsdale and the extent to which we have cut the wage bill. Next season with the current squad it would likely be between £20m and £30m in the red. We definitely need a combination of wage bill trimming and asset sales to keep us on an even keel. Either that or we just think 'fuck it' and go for it anyway.

We have already offloaded 3 bigger money earners that for one reason or another weren't in the squad regularly which will help balance the books a bit. Freeman was on a fair bit if some of the wages sites are to be trusted. Although be sad to see Berge go especially "second half of the season Berge" he needs to do what is best for him and his career.

If we play Bogle in midfield where are the RWBs you refer to other than Baldock ?
What i meant was that we are better equipped in the RWB department (ie Baldock) than the two positions that MGW and Berge occupy. We won’t have any players in that position if they both get sold

Understood. I don’t see any reason this coming season fo be selling players. If there are good bids for one or maybe two, with money available to reinvest, then fine, but with 4 loan players going too many sales would leave us weak.
Hecky made reference to six incoming so with three already gone he doesn’t envisage sales.

is that the same source that said united would never ever spend 20m on one player

we are in a far stronger financial position than teams that are 30m and more in the red
we made a profit not many do

we will sell players but we will buy players. wont be 20m players while we are in the championship
we will compete even more next season unless we have another injury run like this season

sky said the play off final us worth 180m to forest , but 60m less for the blades as we get sky money in parachute payments

rumours of us not having a pot to piss in are ludicrous

Shame we will likely lose Berge but we can sign some decent players on lower wages. With our wage bill we need to ship a load out which is needed anyway.

We'll see won't we 🤷‍♂️

He’s divided fan’s throughout his time in red and white, with opinion’s flitting between bang average, incredible, waste of money and unfulfilled potential.

Was always pretty sure his class would shine through and in the right role, with consistent game time has been a pleasure to watch. The ease in which he plays the game when firing on all cylinders is something we won’t see again at the Lane for a long time.

Hope he stays, but sadly don’t feel there’s much chance we see him again in a blades shirt, but hopefully what the last few months has done is create interest and drive up the price - to a point where at the very least we recoup the money we paid for him and more than likely a profit
Can see someone Newcastle, Everton, Villa or West Ham going for him.

If he does go will follow his career with great interest

If nothing else the last 3 months should see us get our money back at least.

Don't think he's good enough for the Premier league if I'm honest but is probably too good for the championship.
With the right players around him he will be a rolls Royce

And if the likes of Albrighton, Allan, Will Hughes & Choudhury can get a game in the prem, sure Berge can

I would be very surprised if we got anywhere near what we paid for him. Yes he has shown improvement over the last few months. But even still he doesn't get on the ball enough or make runs forward to receive a return pass.
Maybe he will prove to he a success at a higher level club. In my view he has been average. He is very one sided and limited positional wise.

It was clear from the beginning that he had all the technical and physical gifts to go a long, long way in the game. What he seemed to lack was the mentality to impose himself on games and that could make him pretty frustrating to watch at times.

Having said that, he moved to a foreign country just before a pandemic, was stuck at a club where the manager was publicly fighting with the owner, and then suffered a nasty injury (do I win Berge bingo now?). It did seem likely that when circumstances changed he would show what he's really made of and that's happened for us in the second half of the season. It's been a pleasure to watch.

Credit to Hecky and his team for finding Berge's best position and helping him get the most out of his talents.

It'll be interesting to see where he goes. I suspect Arsenal will come back in with a similar offer of around £15m and we will go for it.
I really do wish him well, a top lad and undoubted ability. He just needs to believe in himself far more.

We receive about £45m from the PL next season and around £20m in 2023-24
