Thank You Paul

He did an incredible job in circumstances that were often tougher than people can imagine. Handled himself with dignity and class and put the club first when he must've been dying to tell the world what he was having to deal with.

Reading loads of garbage about how anyone could've got us up which is just total nonsense. The way he got us through that pre-World Cup spell where it seemed like we had 11 players at 70% having to play 90 minutes every week was incredible really.

Glad he got to enjoy the promotion and enjoy a PL win in front of a packed Bramall Lane. Think everyone accepts that the board let him down but I think the players did too this season - appreciate that you can say that it's his job to make sure it didn't happen but the way some of them have downed tools at times has left a sour taste.

Thanks for the good times Hecky lad. Best wishes for success in whatever you take on next. You kept out club afloat after the excesses of the previous regime.

not as you put it but it is in there
"These results are going to come, we expect them, but it is the nature of the performance that we are upset about," Heckingbottom said.

"No-one wants to see that. The supporters were first class, you could hear them all the way through. It has been a tough week for everyone, we wanted to do our bit to change that but we've failed.

"You can't feel sorry for yourself"

in other words dont feel sorry for myself but those that had to watch it
