Thanks to Rotherham's late consollation, we have the (joint) best defensive record in the division.

When was the last time that happened? Even in the 100 points season we conceded more than Bolton, Fleetwood, Bradford and even Oldham.

Not an answer to your question but, its important to note that while Boro have only conceded 41 goals, I would love to see a Boro's fans reaction in comparison to ours about the football they played to accomplish that.

That for me is a bigger thing. We got that defensive record with our fluent attacking play. Boro sat back a lot. Hence their goals for tally..

Excellent point, it’s not like we play a defensive system. Credit to the quietly effective and understated season Egan has had. He’s made a huge impact.

Exactly, I replied to another poster a while back when he criticised him for not joining in with the overlapping organised chaos stuff.

I pointed out that first of all Egan will be doing what Wilder and Knill tell him to do, and secondly someone has to hold back and be the defensive anchor, otherwise we get caught on the break with all of the back three on the edge of the opponents eighteen yard box.

Wilder and Knill are thinkers, they will assess the different problems we are going to face next season and providing whoever owns the club at that point is prepared to back them we are in with a serious chance of staying up, if not qualifying for Europe. :)

Rotherham scored more goals than Boro!
