Totally agree the arrangements re the Olympic stadium are an utter disgrace.
Leyton Orient who are nearer to it are ignored.
It all depends on who you are and who you know.
Have totally lost interest, along with many others in Premiership football, rarely watch it and always one of 5 teams that wins the title.
It is a money orientated league and more shall have more.
UTB

Surely this should be posted in this section? :D

The Club should rise above it and give a "who gives a shit" attitude towards this..

....However looking at Phipps' Twitter we look like we are going to make an issue out of it and open ourselves up to more national ridicule.

What's he put on Twitter?

Thought Sky may have put one up of the 1st ever premiership goalscorer if they were to go to the trouble to replace. Celebrating their history and all that.

What's he put on Twitter?

Someone asked him about it and he said "it's being addressed" no doubt a complaint to Sky.

I actually think we usually get a fair crack of the whip from Sky so I would be suprised if it had be done on purpose.

So it's now David Beckham in Tevez's place. Has he ever pissed us off?

Got tbh I've been over the Tevez thing for a long time now so if I'd been walking past that billboard I probably wouldn't have given it a 2nd thought.

The only thing that niggles me still is how our reputation ended up being the one damaged and not theirs. I put that down to the London based press and certain journalist West Ham fans who let their bias influence so many people.

Anyway it's done with and we've screwed it up so much since they're not to blame for our current situation.

I beliee

Can't believe any Blade is really bothered about this and if they are they need to get a life. Either it was purely a coincidence or maybe it could be as simple as whoever actually put the poster up being a Wednesday fan and saw an opportunity for a wind up.

...and where are the "outraged" blades? The Star prints something like that and everyone assumes where all complaining about it. In reality I seriously doubt anyone would have given it a 2nd look if the star hadn't seen an opportunity to once again paint us in a bad light.

TBH. Like you, I don't give a fuck. And if it is a grunt behind it, fair play - good wind up.

How about this? First player to score 5 in a Premier League game...

EDIT: didn't realise that was Newcastle's first win that season. Lol.

First player to score 5 in a premier league game was Andy Cole vs Ipswich in a 9-0 thumbing for Man U.

But the 8-0 win that the geordies had over the fowls is obviously better!

I found that out after but hoped no-one else would notice :)

That Newcastle game sticks in my mind as I discovered that the Independent's old match report headers fitted exactly in the box on the front of my school planner that was supposed to have my name and form in. Naturally, I stuck the "Newcastle 8 (Shearer 5, Hughes, Dyer, Speed) Sheffield Wednesday 0" header over that. The fact that the school was Tapton and therefore overrun with the dark side made it all the sweeter.

Beckham has never played against the Blades. I have seen Pele, Paul Breitner, Gunter Netzer, Daniel Passarella, nine of the 1966 World Cup final players, Cristano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney but not Beckham

Didn't he play at Saltergate against the reserves at least once?

I've been trying to think of that 'goal' WHU scored. I'm sure it was at Blackburn and the other player involved was the guy who was at Leeds. Can't remember his name. Went to court over racist comments. I've tried unsuccessfully on YouTube for that 'goal'.

So many things went against us that season.
Bobby Zamora was credited as the scorer of that goal
