The parts I found interesting were the tactical tweaks that opposition sides have made to combat our system & our subsequent inability to adapt or change anything.

Agree, other parts of the analysis are fairly obvious to us as regular watchers (we miss chances and concede goals).

I honestly think if JOC wasn't injured we wouldn't be half as bad
But that doesn't excuse the shitshow of recruitment, and us just deciding to go with Jack Robinson, Ethan Ampadu, Kean Bryan and Enda Stevens as our LCB options

Because it's completely false.

JOC played 33 games last season, and the team were still the worst in the league at creating chances.

When the topic comes up of why we are having a bad season compared to last, there is a lot of overanalyzing.

1. Jack O'Connell got injured.

That's it.

Lack of suitable back ups? Exposed due to point 1.

System not working? Due to point 1.

Not having any clean sheets? Due to point 1.

When we got relegated last time:

1. Rob Hulse got injured.

Didn't score enough? See point 1.

January window not effective? See point 1.

Tevez? Wouldn't have mattered if not for point 1.

The opposite is the reason we didn't make Europa League.

Pre Covid:
Man U were minus Rashford
Spurs were minus Son and Kane
Chelsea were minus Abraham
We were with JOC and Fleck

Post Covid:
They weren't.
We were minus JOC and Fleck.

Basically a combination of Covid and Dean Henderson is the reason we failed to make Europe. It was his accidental collision with JOC in training that got him injured.
