Really interesting episode looking back at a great Blades side and hearing his views on the current team.

Good chunk of Sheffield Live's budget has been spent on upgrading their fantastic graphics and set pieces

Good for your posture though with how there sat. Especially Ted. Like being back at school,

Amazing he was never asked about that penalty miss against Bristol Rovers that cost the only chance of cup silverware in God knows when. :)

Always thought Ted was a better cricketer than footballer. Still follow Worcestershire today as a consequence.

Wouldn't have said he was a Blades legend. But certainly part of a Blades legendary team, the one I grew up with.

I may have mentioned that penalty miss once when I was in the corporates a few years back, but I think I got away with it.
Out of our table of eight there was only me & Ted knew what I was alluding to so I didn't expand on it.
Probably mentioned this before but I still have my first Blades shirt (Umbro from Archers) with No:3 sewn on the back. Ted was my favourite player when I first started going purely because we shared the same Christian name. Don't know what Eddie Colquhoun had done to upset me though.

Does JonnyRed(WCFC) know about the Worcestershire link?

He's a terrific chap, met him at the Lane a few times when I've played in the Football Aid stuff. He could literally talk Blades and cricket all day long if he wanted to, what was clear to me was that he really does love this club.

Did he get an invite to your hotel room?

I'm happy to consider him as a legend, not many footballers have three first names :)

I'd never heard him speak and I thought the accent sounded familiar and have just discovered he's from Stoke, never knew that.

Wikepdia says he has a unique claim to fame, having played county cricket for Worcs on his home football ground and that won't ever happen again.

I went to that match in June 1971. As my dad wasnt keen on cricket so my twin uncles took me to the match. Ted got only 6 runs before being bowled by Geoff Cope. I wanted to go home soon after and my twin uncles werent happy because they expected us to be at the Lane all day. We got into an agreement that we would go after Ron Headley gets out. He made 80 runs

I thought the interview was 11/10. Really, really enjoyed it. Thought he was a lovely bloke, the sort of guy who would be great to have as your dad, uncle, grandad (but not all three before the perv police go there! ;))

Colquhoun’s first name is Edmund, so you are ok on that score.
