Team v QPR

I wouldn't be shocked if he played exactly the same team again.

If he makes a change, it'll probably be Woodburn or Duffy in. Not sure he's brave enough to play Duffy behind two strikers so could be Leon up top with both of them behind. A lot will depend on whether someone comes in on loan up top.

Moore
Freeman Egan Steerman O’Connell Enda
Evans Fleck
Woodburn Duffy
Sharp

I'd go with:

Henderson
Basham Egan O'Connell
Baldock Fleck Lundstram Stevens
Duffy Woodburn
Clarke

Maybe replace either / both wing-backs with Freeman / Lafferty if 3 games in a week is too much early this in the season.

He'll pick the same team, he said it was his best team for Swansea & Boro. Think he's losing it TBH.

I've posted my preferred line ups (back 3 or back 4) on the other thread. I predict Wilder will go with this...

Henderson
Basham Egan O'Connell
Baldock Leonard Evans Fleck Stevens
Woodburn
Clarke

Better, but Evans ahead of Duffy would still be a joke.
I agree. So we aren't playing a striker for the 3rd game on the bounce?

- - - - -. -. - - - - Moore
- - - - Egan. - - stearman - - O'Connell
Baldock - - Basham - fleck - - - Bryan
- - - - - - - - woodburn - Duffy
- - - + - - - - - - - Clarke

Subs: Henderson, freeman, stevens, Leonard, evans, mcgoldrick, Sharp

5 new starters hopefully looking to prove a point. Keep same shape as QPR are a team we should look to out pass and basically be better than. Front goot performance needed... Utb!!

My preference.
picked pretty much the same missen .. think i had stears for bash that was all

for QPR - change BOTH wing backs as they aren't wing backs - they are full backs

Get Freeman and give Bryan a chance - doubt anyone will say he can do worse than Stevens. Bryan can pass a ball according to the ones that have seen him. Stevens crossing is just abysmal. We have options, we even have Lafferty and he would certainly defend better.

Don't play Evans and Lundstram together - my choice - Evans all day long.

Possible give Bash a rest - get Stearman in - Egan to RCB.

Duffy just HAS to play. What teams need in midfield is players who can put their foot on it when needed - Duffy is one of the few at the club that can do that. Give Clarke and McGoldrick one more chance.

There are two lineups systems I would like to try. Not that I think wilder will move away from the current system.

-----------------------henderson----------------------
Baldock--------Egan--------JOC---------Bryan
--------------------------Basham----------------------
--------------leonard ----------Fleck----------------
Duffy-------------------------------------Woodburn
----------------------Sharp/Clarke-------------------

I would like to see this work similar to how Napoli (and I assume Chelsea will) under Sarri. The problem is basham isn't much of a "conductor" (however when the Scottish Pirlo is back;)). I think it alleviates our weakest area (wing backs) there is natural width to the system. I would still expect the full back on the side which we are attacking to get forward but it should keep us more rigid at the back.

The next system is probably more likely but still fairly unlikely.

-----------------------Henderson--------------------------
-------------Egan----------JOC-----------Bryan---------
Baldock------------------------------------------Stevens
-------------------Evans-----------Fleck-------------------
Duffy-----------------------------------------Woodburn
-----------------------Sharp/Clarke-----------------------

This one is similar to Conte's Chelsea (first year before he went mental). Egan and Bryan would be more "traditional" CB's and JOC when attacking would move up into midfield (think David luiz). Stevens and baldock/Freeman would still have to get forward and overlap the wingers who would be coming inside and playing as an inside forward (woodburn/hazard) and an inside playmaker (duffy/willian). The full backs would carry their runs on to deliver (probably inaccurate) crosses into the box.

Any way it's all pie in the sky we will probably end up playing the same team we started with vs Boro

CW doesn't really do wholesale changes does he. Heard him say before that subs or cup teams have given him decisions to make, then changed nothing. In reality he'll probably change 1 player, 2 at a stretch and possibly none.

I guarantee there will be at least one change on Saturday.

A 'back to basics' team for me:

Moore
Baldock, Basham, Egan, JoC, Stevens
Lundstram, Fleck
Duffy
Sharp, Clarke

Harsh on Woodburn, but would rather Duffy be in there for now. No more flat 3, back to what we did best and let's take the game to them!

Our two best players from those two shitshows, Henderson and Baldock, are the ones I see missing the most.

Now, Wilder's got previous with dropping a good GK because our defence was shit, did it to Blackman last season, but Baldock has been fine.

Evans has gone, so it's got to be Leonard or Lundstram, Fleck, and Duffy or Woodburn surely?

Could he be ballsy enough to go Leonard and Lundstram? Fuck knows. Just hoping for some points on the board.

Has to be Leonard, Fleck and Duffy in midfield.

Hope:

Henderson
Freeman Egan Stearman O'Connell
Lundstram Basham
Woodburn Fleck Duffy
Sharp
Reality:

Henderson
Basham Egan O'Connell
Baldock--------------------Stevens
Lundstram Fleck
Duffy
Clarke McGoldrick

It won't happen of course, but I'd like to see something like this...

2wqv409.png

Subs:
Henderson
Egan
Bryan
Leonard
Evans
Lundstram
Clarke

Moore and Stearman simply because they'd have a better understanding than Henderson/Egan clearly do at the minute and we need a win. I forgot Freeman was injured (?) so Baldock for him on the picture.

Basham to do the dirty work in midfield, return of the triangle and Duffy back to his best position.

Bit of spark from Woodburn and McGoldrick playing where he seemingly played last night anyway. Those two and Duffy providing for Sharp to do what he does best.
I'd go with a different team but it's a crying shame for that graphic to go unliked!

Henderson
Egan Stearman O'Connell
Baldock Basham Fleck Stevens
Duffy
Woodburn Clarke

A strong defence
Combattive midfield
Creative attack

3 points guaranteed if we pick this team!

Yep, I meant to have Henderson in my team, coffee hadn't kicked in yet clearly.
