I can get on board with this.

My personal preference are dependant on whether we keep 5 at the back or choose to go for a 4.
But you can bet your bottom dollar Clarke starts... ffs.

My preference.

I would change formation

Henderson

Baldock Stearman Egan O'Connell

Leonard Fleck Basham

Woodburn Duffy

Sharp

O'Connell at left back as Stevens is in a poor run of form and it will give us extra height for trying to defend set pieces. Also he can put better crosses in than Stevens

Basham and Leonard to replace Evans and Lundstram for obvious reasons. They would also try and run beyond players to get into the box

Sharp's movement off the ball is far better than Clarke's which would help create space for Woodburn and Duffy

4 at the back ? We If necessary Leonard and Basham can drop back if the full backs have pushed forward

It won't happen thou

Henderson
Basham
Stearman
JOC
Baldock
Freeman
Fleck
Evans
Duffy
Sharp
Clarke

Would be my preferred line up.

Should be..

4-2-2-1-1 formation..

I've posted my preferred line ups (back 3 or back 4) on the other thread. I predict Wilder will go with this...

Henderson
Basham Egan O'Connell
Baldock Leonard Evans Fleck Stevens
Woodburn
Clarke

Better, but Evans ahead of Duffy would still be a joke.

Loads of width there

Leonard seems to get better in the eyes of fans with every game he doesn't play, which says a lot about the current midfield.

One thing we rarely did last season was Duffy and Brooks in the same team with just one up top, you can do that either with the back 3 or with a back 4 with Woodman rather than Brooks obviously. Probably start with a 3 at the back with the option to move Basham into midfield with Woodman and Duffy pushing a bit wider.

The undroppables Stevens and Clarke will be the team whatever happens though.

Bang on the money. I've a feeling it will be somewhat different though.

Radical changes required either way

I'd try something like this. Edited from HeCanDoMagic post. Sharp to replace Clarke at HT if not happening.

Woodburn has to start. Other than that I don’t expect any other changes so will be McGoldrick who sits out.

It won't happen of course, but I'd like to see something like this...

Subs:
Henderson
Egan
Bryan
Leonard
Evans
Lundstram
Clarke

Moore and Stearman simply because they'd have a better understanding than Henderson/Egan clearly do at the minute and we need a win. I forgot Freeman was injured (?) so Baldock for him on the picture.

Basham to do the dirty work in midfield, return of the triangle and Duffy back to his best position.

Bit of spark from Woodburn and McGoldrick playing where he seemingly played last night anyway. Those two and Duffy providing for Sharp to do what he does best.

It does need wholesale changes to make the players wake up and smell the coffee.

Clear message needs stating...

If you're wank you're out!

Sharp
For this to work, Duffy and Woodburn need to get up with Sharp, maybe consider Woodburn just off Sharp like this:

Henderson

Basham - Egan - O'Connell

Baldock - Lundstram - Fleck - Lafferty

Duffy

------------ Woodburn
Sharp-------

Henderson
Stearman Egan O’Connell
Baldock Lafferty/Bryan
Fleck Leonard
Duffy
McGoldrick Sharp

I'm surprised at the number of posters on this thread who are still persisting with 3 at the back as if this is the magic bullet. It's a failed system, hardly any teams in the world employ it, let alone in the Championship. This fixation exists from the manager at the top right through to the fan on the terrace. This needs unravelling as the first priority in fixing our woes and that's going to be a job in itself.

I would change to below to combat our weakness in the air at set pieces/corners and add some pace/creativity

- - - - - ----- - - Henderson - - - - - - - -

- -Basham - - Egan - - JOC - -Stearman-- Bryan -

- - - - - Leonard ---- Duffy-----Fleck - - - - - -

I'm surprised that people think its the midfield which has cost us when actually its the back 5 - especially at corners so we need to change that more than the midfield so I would brink Stearman in and move Bash to RWB and also brink in the new kid Bryan instead of Stevens who has been shambolic in both matches
