Come on Roy, there should be a view from Wendy everyday this week surely!!??;)

I got a few pelters on here for suggesting Freeman was knackered a few weeks back but if you can’t see it now then you never will, the bloke needs a rest and freshening up so he can come back and play like we know he can.

As good as Freeman has been this season and the fact I like him doesn’t alter the thought process that for me, Baldock has to play in this game.

I think we also need to utilise Johnson more aswell.
100% this. Our wing backs work incredibly hard and I am surprised and the lack of game time both Johnson and Baldock have had.

We know going forward Freeman is much better than Baldock but who is actually the better defender?
I'm leaning towards George, but I have a short term memory and Freemans useless display at the weekend is hard to get out of my mind at the moment.

Mcgoldrick HAS TO start, and like everyone says we just have to hope Duffy makes it.

Freeman can't play like he has and keep his place for a game like this.

Duffy and McGoldrick are what I think Wednesday struggle with most, so both should play. Sharp and McGoldrick have been our best strike pairing this season.

If this is not the line-up I'm going to be so dissapointed

Is it wrong to be a little bit aroused......Screenshot_20181106-104834_Chrome.jpg

Freeman isn't in the best form at all but this game could be more suited to him than Baldock if they do set up to defend like we expect them to.

Hopefully Duffy is fit and McGoldrick and Sharp are up top. Every other position picks itself at the minute.

Baldock was excellent against them last year

Sound so Freeman’s gets skinned by a £13m winger and suddenly he’s out of our next game. And in comes Baldock who hasn’t had any game time for months. Logic.

It's an absolute fact that Freeman is the only full back/ wing back to have been beaten by any player ever therefore he must miss the next game, regardless of how good he's generally been this season.

I don't think we should drop Freeman, but he hasn't played well since the international break. It's just a dip in form; he'll be back to his best soon enough.

I would've preferred to start Freeman, after playing Baldock at Forest. That's what Wilder should've done. But now Freeman's played against Forest and cost us the game, Baldock can come back in, for me.

Talking of wing backs, how is Kyle Naughton getting on ? Some years since he left, would he return, could we afford him? Wages, etc.
As I remember him, he'd be ideal in our team.
Suppose this has been talked about on here already.

He's currently at Swansea with a season and a half left on his contract and he's pushing 30 years old so he's no spring chicken. Swansea paid about £6m for him quite a few seasons back and he's played regularly for them so I guess they've got value for money and would probably sell for a reasonable price.

In his prime for Swansea he was probably a perfect fit for us last season/this season, good at defending, wants to get forward and good on the ball, generally better at WB than RB. But his goal threat was never great and his crosses are average, also he's about to drop over the edge you'd think, it's the type of position you need an engine for and that type of attribute can easily drop off around the 30 mark.

It's a no from me. Freeman and Baldock are doing a good job for now, if we're going to replace them it needs to be someone with promise.

It's to do with him looking shattered before the hour was up in the last two matches I've seen plus Forest.

He was up against it in both games. Wigan were pacey and attacked well. And Forest have very dangerous wingers. Our style will make most tire after an hour.

Hindsight.

And the defeat wasn’t entirely the fault of one man. O’Connell wasn’t exactly on his toes with Grabban was he? Fine margins.

George Baldock certainly doesn’t get the nod Friday, not for me. But then again Freeman is one of the first names on my teamsheet.

We could just look at cold, hard facts.

Baldock P4 W0,
Freeman P13 W9.

I’ve stated that I like Freeman and he’s played well this season for the most part, however, he hasn’t played well in the last 3 games and is getting caught out very easily due to being fatigued imho. Stevens on the other side is getting stronger game by game and is doing every part of the wingback role very well and looks relatively fresh.

I have no problem with Freeman, I just think he needs a rest as we need as many players as possible to be fresh against those twats. What’s to say Freeman can’t come on for the last 15 to 20 mins of the game and impact it against a tiring left hand side of the pigs?

Let’s have a look at recent form and fatigue.

Or are you trying to say Baldock is wank and has been the fault of all of his 4 defeats?

Another fact, in Freemans’ last 4 games we’ve only won 1, meaning he won his last 8 out of the previous 9 games according to your stats but I’m not going to say it’s all his fault for Freemans’ last 4 games.

Exactly. No ones anti Freeman, or pro Baldock. He's looked very tired for the last three games.
