As a Championship club. We're going to find it difficult to place our untried, untested youngsters at League One clubs.

I think the same could be said for Marsh. He needs a season in L1 for me, he's only played competitively consistently at National League level. Needs to prove himself at L1, unless we really need him for depth.
It all depends on who we bring in/who leaves.
I’d certainly be considering if we need Dozell as 2/3 choice. Does it block a pathway? Is he really x amount better than some of the youngsters, etc.
Yeah I am fully aware Arblaster will blow hot and cold at this stage and he's well ahead of the others. The idea that a bunch of them are ready now and forever is very unlikelyLet's say Souza goes (seems to have gained some traction today), barring any new signings we've got Peck and Arblaster for that double pivot.
Having Dozzell will be useful if either one gets injured or Peck doesn't quite do enough to step up, so definitely sign him, even both Peck and Arblaster could benefit from Dozzell being here.
Thought he looked really good again yesterday.
I hope he's in Wilders plans for league minutes this season. Looks good enough and mature enough to take them.
Yes i agreeI said this yesterday too.
I'd like him in and around the 1st team to get 10-15mins here and there. Better to be here than at a League 1 club IMO.
What is a double pivot please?Let's say Souza goes (seems to have gained some traction today), barring any new signings we've got Peck and Arblaster for that double pivot.

Putting two midfielders in front of the defence, allowing them to protect the defence and join in the attack. What is a double pivot please?
Are you really a Blade?Get rid ASAP! Treatment room is already full.
If Souza goes and we have no money, Dozzell is fine as a backup for experience but other than experience he's got little to offer. If Souza stays and we're blocking Peck's path into the team it should be with someone with experience and quality, rather than someone experienced but worse.Let's say Souza goes (seems to have gained some traction today), barring any new signings we've got Peck and Arblaster for that double pivot.

Too many people assuming that Peck is now a Championship level player. Thousands of kids have impressive minutes in friendlies and end up in non league. If Souza goes and we have no money, Dozzell is fine as a backup for experience but other than experience he's got little to offer. When I were a lad (I’m 40) a 4-4-2 would consist of 2 wingers and 2 central midfielders, one of which would push on and the other sit back. When one was knackered, the other would push forward. Sounds similar but a more modern trendy term for it?Finally. I've been too embarrassed to ask
A 4-4-2 contains two central midfielders that both normally operate box to box, or as number eights. As you said, if one drops, the other goes. When I were a lad (I’m 40) a 4-4-2 would consist of 2 wingers and 2 central midfielders, one of which would push on and the other sit back. Just while we’re at it, can someone tell me what it means to play ‘as a ten’ or ‘as a nine’? Once again, when I were a lad, a 4-4-2 just meant two up top.
A ‘9’ is an out and out centre forward, plays on the last defender and rarely drops back to fetch the ball. When I were a lad (I’m 40) a 4-4-2 would consist of 2 wingers and 2 central midfielders, one of which would push on and the other sit back. I thought Peck was more of an attacking than a defensive midfielder? If Souza goes and we have no money, Dozzell is fine as a backup for experience but other than experience he's got little to offer. Yeah, I get that bit.Just while we’re at it, can someone tell me what it means to play ‘as a ten’ or ‘as a nine’? Once again, when I were a lad, a 4-4-2 just meant two up top.
Peck was literally better than Dozzell yesterday, it's not so much Peck looking good in friendlies but Dozzell looking sub-Rotherham level that's the concern of signing him, he's proven, but proven to be mediocre at best.Too many people assuming that Peck is now a Championship level player. Thousands of kids have impressive minutes in friendlies and end up in non league.
Dozzell has proven himself at this level, Peck hasn't even begun to do so yet. The chance of Peck being a better player than Dozzell this season or in the future are still incredibly slim.
He's played in one of the two deep midfield spots in every friendly so far.I thought Peck was more of an attacking than a defensive midfielder?
Or am I confusing him with someone else?
Dozzell has played well in all the other friendlies, less so against Rotherham. We also have his 100 odd games against Championship opposite to go on, and a bit in league 1.Peck was literally better than Dozzell yesterday, it's not so much Peck looking good in friendlies but Dozzell looking sub-Rotherham level that's the concern of signing him, he's proven, but proven to be mediocre at best.
No that's the double punch and kick... Too soonHe's pulling your leg it's something to do with strictly come dancing surely
What is a double pirouette please?
Serious question when do kids stop being kids? appreciate clubs remit will be straight back to the promised land i would like to see us use some of the kids get them involved now serves 2 purposes more game time and hopefully increased offers should other clubs come sniffing.Dozzell has played well in all the other friendlies, less so against Rotherham. Peck has played 11 games for Oldham in non league, and about 10mins in a PL game where he didn't touch the ball. He looked brighter than Dozzell against Rotherham for 15 minutes in a friendly.
We've had loads of kids look better than senior pros for short spells, we know it doesn't guarantee consistency. Peck has looked good, so deserves to keep getting chances. We all hope for the best, but should appreciate the odds aren't on him being a top Championship player.
Totally agree. Sizzle got his big move to Spurs in 93, no guarantees Peck gets near that levelToo many people assuming that Peck is now a Championship level player. Thousands of kids have impressive minutes in friendlies and end up in non league.
