Super Billy v Piggy Rhodes

Anyone think that perhaps Rhodes has some affection for his old club and just didn't want to take a penalty against them?

At best that'd be letting his teammates and the fans down for selfish personal reasons. At worst it's a downright lack of professionalism and an insult to the employers paying him circa £200k a month to score goals, which includes taking fucking penalties.

Taking one and missing would be far less embarrassing than having the world know that you simply didn't have the bottle for it.

A £10milllion 27 year-old striker not confident of scoring from 12 yards in front of his own fans...it beggars belief.

...got pig pal who usually drops the '...but Billy only scores pen's' line into any conversation on Sheffield strikers'

:D

When you go to war,you want men like Billy Sharp in the trenches with you and he will be the first man over the top of the trench leading the others.................Rhodes on the other hand would be sat in the bottom of the trench trembling like a baby.
Rhodes would more likely be sat at home with a white feather.
That wont save them next season though. Tufty is preparing for war and Swilsboro is going to get a MOAB dropped on it. UTB

Sharp would take the penalty no mater who he was playing for, or against. A total model professional.

Rhodes may of course come good next season for them. But they now have all their eggs in one basket.

Problem that they have is that they've spunked a lot of money on strikers and not much else.

So the new manager going in there will need to clear out the ones that they can make any money back on.... which is likely to be Sam Winnall, they one that cost the least and scores the most...

Totally true.

If I was a pig fan (eurgh), I'd be wondering why we had signed Rhodes when Winnall seems a better prospect at a snip of the price.

It'll be interesting to see their strategy going forwards. I personally think Chansiri will throw money at it again, as he'll have to promise that for a new manager that they'll get in.
