Well now that's over who are peoples realistic summer wish list signings? And players out?
In:
Tommy Lee (chesterfield)
Jimmy Ryan (chesterfield)
Sam Morsy (chesterfield)
Nicky Maynard (Cardiff)
Jay Emmanuel Thomas (Bristol)
And 2 Centre backs if not 3

Out:
Turner
Harris
Mceveley
Collins
Alcock
Coutts
Holt
Doyle or reduced money as a back up
Baxter
B Davies
Higdon
S Davies unless he will agree a small contract and a back up player
Campbell ryce

Keep Holt

We need:
A new safe hands keeper
A strong commanding centre back
A box to box midfielder
A new right mildfieler
And young/old players who are happy to be on the bench but can change games in our favour and can attack as a impact sub

Out: McEverley, Doyle, Turner, Alcock, Ben Davies, Higdon, Collins

In: 2 centre halves probably need 3 though someone like a Jake Buxton, Shaun Barker (pending proven fitness), Jason Pearce uptop a willing target man my preference is Chris O'Grady (if not him Steven Davies).

I feel Coutts can come good after a proper pre season. JCR still has alot to offer for me also. As for Jason Holt I'm unsure, he gets goals from midfield and that's something we dont usually do too often but he does go missing for 60/70% of the match

We need:

2 bastard, hard clumping, animal, nut-crunching, baby-eating centre halves.
2 bastard, hard clumping, animal, nut-crunching, baby-eating midfielders.
1 bastard, hard clumping, animal, nut-crunching, baby-eating striker.

to look after the talented players that we do have at the club already (which is a subset of the current squad).

(and a new right back cos the talisman is crocked for a long, long time).

A couple of 6ft 5 centre halves and replace the likes of Doyle and Flynn who've had a fair crack now at this level. Pace needed and we'll be sorted. If clough puts this right in preseason he deserves another crack but if it's same owd by sept/oct it's time to part

Agree with that but I'd say no to JCR and Holt - surely we can find some other better options.

We need:
1. To sort out why Howard has let in so many long-range shots recently. If his vision is 20-20, get a new keeper.
2. Two CBs who can defend set pieces. At least one of them needs to have a bit of pace.
3. Some pace & power in midfield.
4. A half-decent CF.
So just a bit of minor tweaking by replacing the entire spine of the team!

A transfer policy which brings in better players than we had to start with rather than swapping like for like would be class.

Also desirable:

- Not falling out with signings before they've even started a league game
- Avoiding players who have a worse fitness record than Evel Knievel

It'd take a mammoth bid to get him i'm sure to drop a league but Rudy Austin is available on a free this summer. He'd add plenty of aggression & energy to our powder puff midfield

Top of the wishlist by a country mile has to be the signing of a couple of actual, specialist Centre halves.

It's not the first time I've said this in recent years, but I'm actually looking forward to us clearing out a lot of the dreck as I am us getting any new faces in.

That's the difficult thing we face, yes I'd trust Clough for next season but two or three losses in August/September will see the crowd turn then a new manager has to start again.

A bad position would be a new manager with another guys squad, we need to be strong and believe.

Hastily assembled poll way too soon after the event:

I'd keep nine of 'em and one of them is out for at least six months so we won't see the best of him until Xmas at best.

The squad isn't good enough and we want the manager out?

Yes he's signed them but we are third division so generally apart from the odd player we will be signing third division players.

We all know we need two big, strong, nasty centre halves, two lads who would be waiting in the tunnel at half time to chin a player who had upset them. We need one similar player in the centre of the park and maybe one up front.

I like Steven Davies, he has the "nastyness" required to be physical when needs be.

I like Che Adams, he isn't too nasty, but he has the upper body strength that reminds me of a young Kyle Walker, he has the pace and power and a rocket of a shot.

I think we need a new keeper and (being controversial here) I would go after Chris Kirkland, who has stated he does not want to be warming the bench week in, week out. I like Howard but he his reaction time over the last few months has been bad, gifting goal to opposition teams.

I need to think further, but as we face yet another season in League One (the biggest club, by far, to have spent this many consecutive seasons in the third tier), we need to build a team that gets us out, without the play offs. As I have said many times before, when SWFC pipped us for second place, they only had three first team regulars under six feet tall

Whats happened to Cuvelier is he still a united player?
Last I heard he was injured while out on loan at Burton. Not much luck for this lad is there?

I'll report back on the results of the poll in the near future.

Maybe, though my tweak to the above would be more to get two solid CBs - in terms of pace, they needn't be any quicker than Collins and Maguire in past seasons. We've been undone in the middle not because our CBs have been slow, but more than as a pairing they've been mostly poor.

Agree like Kilgallon and Morgan , one horrible bastard who won everything and scared people and one with pace and anticipation.

Please no more Derby players. Agree with most of the rest.

Personally I would put Basham at the back and put a stopper next to him, like Reedy's example of Pearce.

The midfield either needs a fit Wallace or someone of similar type. We then need someone who can protect the back 4. Something sadly missing this season.

The rest tactical, it just really is.

I just want 2 centre halves and not play with everyone camped in our half. Mark Warburton would be nice as well.

stevenage keeper looked pretty good.. and tommy lee always has a blinder at the lane
