Suggested signings for next season

Pigs have got too many forwards - I’d have Winall or Luca Jao.
Also be happy with Chris Martin or Matt Smith

Of the ones I suggested last year that I can remember id still have ben Marshall and Sean Maguire, I don't think we could get maguire now though. If were doing this whole British and Irish players thing we need scouts in Ireland.

Anyone know maddisons contract situation? It was his last year, not a priority but not a bad freebie.

I'd be looking to poach from this that go down. Some good players scattered amongst poor players around them.

Both great players. As you alluded to, no chance with Maguire really, would cost millions. Settled in the area and given they sold Hugill for £10M they’d be wanting at least nearly that for Maguire.

Primary targets for me are Blackman, a left back and a striker or two.

As far as a left back goes, Jamal Lewis the young lad who's breaking through at Norwich has huge potential and would certainly be worth looking at.

Strikers, well it beats me because who knows what money we will realistically have available. Chris Martin would be decent but he appears a bit of a mardy fucker and can't really see him fitting into the Wilder mould. Will Grigg is likely to be playing Championship football anyway as Wigan will come back up so I think we can rule him out for now. Sordell rather owes us so if he could come on over and bang 20 goals in that'd be great... :D

Striker might be difficult. As others have suggested Mo Eisa is worth a punt.

Lewis is a great shout, would he leave Norwich to come here though?
Jordan Hugill season loan, if they stay up!

Miles out of his depth at West Ham

Might be wrong but get the impression he was bought with the championship in mind, or to be sold if they stayed up to an upper championship club like Boro for around what they originally paid.

Not bothered who - just players capable of playing 40 games a season and being good enough to be a top six team. That's the only way to give ourselves the chance to get out.

Anything less and it's a waste of time.

We might get stuffed by going up - but we have to aspire to at least getting into the Prem.

years back it was Charlton that was run right (and lets remember, they had a magnificent fit with Curbishlley. Burnley now represent what's good about being a decent Prem team and it's no coincidence that they too have a magnificent fit as manager with Dyche. Hull too had a decent manager and backing from the board with Allam - until it all went tits up.

Wilder is the best fit for us too - he can takes us up and will do his utmost to keep us their - we all trust him on that - but he needs the tools (ie: money and support) for a couple of seasons to create the next Burnley.

Unless our budget changes, we'll probably poaching the better players from the sides that get relegated from the Championship, League 1 stars or young Prem loans.

Oliver McBurnie - Swansea (Loan)
Tom Bradshaw - Barnsley
Sam Gallagher - Southampton (Loan)
Diego Jota - Birmingham £££!!
Ellis Harrison - Bristol Rovers
Sone Aluko - Reading
Chris Gunter - Reading
Nouha Dicko - Hull
Alan McGregor - Hull
Liam Kelly - Reading
David Marshall - Hull

Get a cheeky bid in for Jordan Rhodes at a massively reduced price.

Somebody is going to end up with the biggest bargain ever when Wednesday move him on.
Don't know if your being sarcastic but iv always been under the opinion that good players don't just suddenly become crap. It's also about being at the right club with the right manager. Someone will be able to take a cheap punt on him and if they get the player he was before it would be a bargin.

Gallagher and Jota are probably two of the reasons Birmingham are down there. Both overpriced and shocking this season.

....it will be an interesting pre-season if the owner situation is still up in the air...

That’s the key thing. If that doesn’t get sorted we can forget about any major or minor signings.

We need to ensure we don’t let key men go as well.

Aluko’s performance at the Lane was one of the worst I’ve seen. When I looked up how much he cost, I nearly fell off my chair. Not for me. £7.5m players also command very decent wages, like most on your list will

But mine is an old version, so can I suggest Ramon Calliste and Freddie Adu please?

Ha ha. I remember back in the day the key to romping through the lower leagues was buying an unknown Swedish 17 year old called Ibrahamovic.... Whatever happened to him??

I would guess that other than Harrison and Bradshaw, all of those names will be out of our budget in terms of wages (and in some cases the fee as well)

Some interesting suggestions but a number of them can be immediately ruled out due to wage demands. Winnall, Hugill, Rhodes, Hooper, Martin, Jota etc. on their current salary would (easily!) become Utd's highest paid player (some of them on more than double Sharp's wage!).

Considering the ongoing ownership issues, the summer budget may be similar to this season's (or even lower) unless a resolution can be found. Even if it can and unless there is a big injection of capital, I would imagine Utd would again be looking at players on their way up (from lower Champ and L1 (supplemented by a few loans) rather than established upper Champ or lower Prem players

However, assuming that some funds will be made available to CW (either from ownership or player sales), I' could see Bradshaw/Gregory, Egan and Eastwood (Oxford's GK) arriving. I agree another LWB is also probably required (to compete with Stevens rather than replace him) and still think a very pacy option up front is the biggest gap in the current squad.

Why do I keep reading 'compete with Stevens' or 'push Stevens'? Does no one want anybody better?

I said it because I think Stevens is a decent player. Admittedly he suffered a drop in form (and it appeared confidence) but has looked far better again in recent games. Of course, if a better option is available and affordable, they go for them but IMHO, GK (assuming Blackman will go back to CFC), CB and 2 x CF are bigger priorities for this summer's recruitment.

Blow whatever budget we have on strikers.

We are more than competitive everywhere else.

Blackman isn’t in our price range but we could get a loan of him again. If not, then clearly a keeper might be needed assuming Eastwood is deemed not good enough just yet.

Looking at some of the striker names on here, none really enthuse me, and most are very expensive mediocrity.
McGoldrick from Ipswich being the exception of his contract is up. Very neat and tidy player who IMHO would benefit hugely from some Wlder treatment.
Our budget should be seeing us picking up the hottest talent from the leagues below. The type of player like Vardy from Fleetwood, who at the time was seen as a huge gamble for that fee.
The main attribute being Pace and finishing ability. Where they are presently matters not, as experience and playing both with and against better players will quickly get them up to standard

I think he's a decent solid player as well but we need to absolutely maximise productivity from the wing back positions because they're our only wide players and we rely on them a lot.

Strikers might be a bigger priority but it's not like we're only going to be making 3 signings. I'm pretty sure we'll make at least 5.

For me we need to be signing a starting GK, a starting LWB, a starting striker and a probable starter at CB. As well as a right sided winger and another attacker.

What about that lad McNulty at Coventry he's bagged over 20 already this season and is a decent age....stands back...

I agree with those saying we need to blow the budget on a quality striker and wide man. One of the reasons our crossing is poor is because full backs are doing the crossing...let's get a proper winger in and a shit hot forward to play alongside Billy or Leon with the other as back up. If we can't afford a ready made forward I'd get Wyke in from Bradford as I think he's a potential star
