Strange decisions

It’s pretty clear both Brew and Pub are in the last chance saloon with Slav.

My take is that he has afforded them one last opportunity to prove worth.

It won’t work !!.

Brewster has hardly played all season, can't shoot, can't head it and can't tackle. He then gets cramp so can't run. Common sense says take him off and put Baldock on, but no, we take Fleck off instead.
Fleck was the worst player on the pitch - probably even in the stands

he was shocking

Totally agree about Fleck, but Brewster kept limping about and it just seemed a strange decision to not take him off.

We have too many players who are no longer good enough and/or too old. Also, and more importantly, the majority of them just don’t give a toss anymore and coast through games. The lack of desire to keep clean sheets and see games out has been missing for 18 months. It’s a disgrace.

Slav needs his own players.

It allowed Brewster to be on the pitch for that stinging drive he hit at their keeper near the end. I think Samba will be in for surgery on his broken fingers tomorrow.

To old? Not good enough yes but too old?

He brought Hourihane on for height, I think. Brewster obviously better in the air than Fleck (but then again, so is Jimmy Krankie)

It was embarrassing, MGW looked furious with Brewster, he runs half the pitch and puts it on a plate for him and he finishes like that

What makes matters worse is we use Stevens, osbourne and fleck to build up nearly every attacking move and 99% of the time it ends up with us blocked in Ont left chalk line. Where are the crosses? Why don’t we use right side of pitch and mid channel box to box areas?

It pains me to say it as I have loved the lad over the last few years, but if I ever see Fleck in a United shirt again, it will be too soon.

He's no longer the same player and that old footballer is long gone. Ffs put a young un in (Slater for example) and see how he gets on. Its like playing with 10 men every game with Jimmy Fleck on the engine room every game.

Norwood hasn't covered himself in glory much this season but he's way ahead of Fleck this season as far as I'm concerned.

Norwood did nothing wrong tonight, the other two however were proper bobbins.

Norwood did too much tour guide pointing, "over there is another pass backwards, over there is yet another pass backwards, and over there is where we lose the ball"

He didn’t do much wrong but it boils my piss when he goes and gets the ball 3 yards away from our centre halves and then just gives it straight back. If he wants to be this QB type player then at least pick the ball up somewhere that he can then play a meaningful pass when he receives it (I don’t mean a 70 yard ping every time either, just progressing the ball into midfield would be a start).

His play out of possession is also atrocious, he either fouls or lets the opposition run past then does his sludge run (TM Webding) to try and get back. He must love the sight of the back of oppo players shirts.

The players in front of Norwood did far less progressive football tonight, watch it again, Norwood played some lovely forward passes, especially in the first half, it wasn’t his fault that those in front of him tonight were useless with the ball when he gave it them and the majority of the time went backwards.

Surprised no one has mentioned Slater or Maguire for a run, especially after last night? Probably not ready, I know, but loads of other teams seem to blood youngsters on a regular basis.

We advanced with the ball to attacking 3rd while one or two players made runs to free space. Instead of playing ball forward we stopped the ball, runners stopped and then we started to pass backwards. This happened many times and I'm just wondering why.. We started to play more forward after Sharp came on, so maybe our attacking needs him on the field.

The grass also looked kinda slipperish at times, but it didn't seem to been cold enough for ice or am I wrong?

Hourihane sub at 89min was funky move which I didn't understand either.

Some players were bad tonight and only few did better. At least we got some new energy with changes in starting XI and hopefully this theme continues.

Well, Bash got his chance last night and grabbed it by the scruff of the neck, is it time to do the same with Slater ?

I thought you was meaning there stone wall penalty we got away with.

Osborn was the worst school kid on the pitch, he is so bloody lightweight. Can’t fault him for effort but need more than that, starting with staying on his feet
The thing about Osborne is that he occasionally has a very good game and creates and even scores don’t can see why Slav picks him
