At the end of the day you know JOC is going to have to carry Stevens and you know Fleck is going to have to carry his partner be it Evans or Lundstram.

I’d give Leonard a run I think be it at RCB or CM. A bit of pace and athleticism that we’re crying out for.

I agree on Lunny, Stevens and Evans but not Basham but let's get a little real here. This is the first game of the season and we have a long way to go.

I do see the 3 I mentioned getting replaced over the coming weeks/months - Wilder and Knill are not blind or daft. Let them sort it and try to keep your toys in the pram for at least a couple of months.

Coutts to return, imminent striker to come in. Woodburn and Duffy will get their chances to shine. RND will likely replace Stevens if he doens't improve. Freeman will get a good shout this year as well.

So give it a rest as it's only game 1 FFS - you can come back at Xmas and say I told you so if you want but that would be justified AT THAT TIME if it happened.

Today was poor. I really dont think any player was particularly outstanding either positively or negatively.. The team was unbalanced and lacked pace. Me and my mate both immediately said we were worried when Duffys name was not on the teamsheet. He did more in the 5 minutes he wa on than the 3 in midfield did for the whole 90.
We need pace desperately.
More worrying was that a poor team were first to the ball all game and looked more up for it.

Swansea are far from being a poor team Kiwi and on that performance yesterday nailed on for a play off place. Barry McKay, shat ourselves every time he got on the ball.

Leonard & Holmes - really strange we chased them for ages, finally signed them and never gave them a chance. After watching that midfield yesterday they must be as baffled as the rest of us.

Lafferty never really did much wrong, not spectacular but solid. Without doubt a better player than Stevens. Another player who must be wondering what they have done wrong.

It would be harsh to judge Henderson, Egan & McGoldrick. The others it’s a continuation from last season, we have seen enough to know they aren’t good enough.

Bring back the holy trinity. Neither Lunsdstram or Evans can pick a pass out or tackle properly in the middle of the park, they simply don’t support the front men enough either. The opposition were tippy tapping their way through our midfield like it wasn’t there and this in turn this makes Fleck look shite too. Poor old Flecky is trying to play his own game, as well as Coutts and Duffy’s
Wilder said we needed a replacement for Brooks? No we really wanted a proper understudy for Coutts because our current incumbents ain’t up to it.

Swansea nailed on for a play off place. I will politely disagree with that. Yesterday was a poor game from both teams. Bereft of any real quality.
The one thing Swansea did have and did utilise well was their pace.

It’s hard to say where Swansea will finish this season on that performance, such was the low standard of our performance.

I feel like defensively they put in a good performance. As the home team, I think we only created two good chances (1 goal).

Going forwards, they looked dangerous. Once they’d finished paying us respect they tore us apart. It was a good away performance. I think they’ll get better as the season goes on and will finish somewhere between 4th and 8th - a good number of places above us.

Problem is Evans and Fleck play the same game so reduce our options when together. Swansea are a possession team and so could easily double up on the midfield and their sharper passing found the gaps.
Both their goals looked so familiar, 4 defenders one-sided on the goal. Agreed wrong line up, but I think we've got a real coaching weakness with that wrong siding of the defense.
