Isn't Hendrick leaving on a free in the same way Lundstram wants to, for better wages?
I don’t know the reasons he’s leaving, all I know is he’s off.
Hendrick might be fed up of playing right wing when he’s a central midfielder.

I don’t know. But he’d be a good signing if it presents itself.

Lundstram has another year on his current contract - he won't be leaving on a free this summer.

I'm aware of that.....

I'm just stating that the club is currently been unable to get him to agree to an actual extension, which is the same with Hendrick at Burnley.

I imagine Hendrick will want double the salary Lundstram does.

I might be wrong but i'm pretty sure he wants a bigger contract and a bigger club.

There were AC Milan rumors at one point.

We need to create more chances if we want to score more goals. Most of our chances are created by our Stevens and Baldock. And often they’re wasteful.
Wing backs are an important cog in our attacking unit. They’re not just ‘defenders’

Go figure...
F#cking unbelievable!

I wouldn't be too sure about your last point CQ.

Not sure how accurate the figures on spotrac.com are, any idea?

It says Hendrick is on £35k and Lundstram at £4k, which seems far too low for the latter.
But if Hendrick is on £35k, he's got a right to demand more than Lundstram imo, playing at this level much longer.

I don’t think he can realistically expect a bigger club than us. AC Milan more than likely agent talk.

We’ll see. I’m sure we’ll have thought about it at least.

I know Hendrick's is there or thereabouts (from someone who used to work at Burnley). I don't know Lundstram's exact salary but I know it's a lot more than £4k - he was on almost that at Oxford!

They’re very wrong.

No one in our first team is on 4k.

Great counter argument that.
Don’t you think the wing backs are part of our attacking unit then? 😂

You will not get anything coherent out of him.
He's convinced i'm a Wednesday fan......Keeps following me about in every thread shouting 'pig'.

At least have the decency to debate me if you disagree.

Fair enough.
Like I say, i've got no idea about the salaries.

But it does seem to me to be a bid odd for Hendrick to want a better contract, but move to a club which pays less.

We could pay him what he’s on now without any doubt, doubt we’d go above that.

I think he’ll struggle for more than that

I don’t understand people who want us to sign strikers to solve our goalscoring. Totally forgetting the fact that we need to sign players who create chances or amend the system.

McBurnie and Moose will score goals all day at this level if they have chances created for them, they’ve proven that.

You are the best advert for drugs don’t work I have ever come across 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We’ve got a limited budget, and you want us to blow it on wing backs? Not just any old wing backs, but a Norwichalona full back? Might as well go for Aaron’s as well, hey? Crackhead.

Wing back*. That’s one, not two.
Lewis will be much cheaper than Aarons, don’t be stupid. I know it must be hard.

Coming from somebody who doesn’t think our wing backs form a huge part of our attacking play, but also that Robinson is cover for Stevens, calling me a crackhead is quite impressive.

Is it any surprise you've already been banned off here before returning 2 weeks back?

I think this whole debate is a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to Thursday night. Hadve people forgoten the four previous matches? We were very poor through the team and Wilder acknowledged this. He was very upset as it was so unlike us. Every player could hardly manage a short pass and most couldn't control it before a Leicester player was around to dispossess us. He rightly said he could have brought any one of them off. To me it looked more like mental fatigue. The players seemed slow in thought and certainly slow to react. Stevens has been great for us and his cross for McBurnie last Saturday didn't seem to bring any complaints. We don't know what the close season will bring. Wilder will have a plan but budgets will dictate a lot of what happens, both here and elsewhere.

It isn’t

I think one potential problem, which is being overlooked because of the success this season, is the age of certain players.

Stevens is 30, in a position which requires a lot more legs to get about the pitch than say the role that Norwood plays.

I actually think this has already been thought about by Wilder a bit though.
He's bought Versatility with Robinson/Osborn/Freeman who all at a push could play both the LWB role and LCM.

Matty Cash & Antonee Robinson (Wigan) would be my choices to push our wing backs, but I don't think the budget is there for it.

If we can't get Henderson back on loan then I think most of our budget will go on a first choice goalkeeper (£20m).

The remaining funds will probably go on

  • a right-footed, low-cost Jack Robinson type to cover Baldock & Basham.
  • another experienced operator to cover John Egan (if Jagielka's time is up).
  • someone to replace John Lundstram at RCM (John Swift - £5m ish).
  • a striker that can stretch defences (given Mousset doesn't seem able to switch his head on enough).

Total outlay, £40m(ish) offset by sales (£10-20m) of 2-3 of L Freeman, J Lundstram, C Robinson.
£20m for Lundstram, CR and LF...

i think we might struggle for £10m combined, we will struggle for money back on LF and CR, Lunny will also be cheap due to contract

We paid £5m for L Freeman who was in the last year of his contract & £7m for C Robinson. They're both a good age & their value shouldnt have depreciated too much. Add Lundstram at £4m(ish), you're in that region..
