He's looking after himself, fear not. A difficult hour once a year whilst racking up six figures plus pension. Nice work Steve.I thought he was pretty honest. He was more nervous than he's ever been because he's well aware it's a turd that can't be polished. He's probably also aware that going forward the board structure means it's likely to continue on that trajectory. Overall he should've looked after himself and not taken the interview.
Thank fuck for that, hopefully Bindon and Barry. So some of the existing ones are going back
They're working on it right now. Well not right now because it 11pm, but it was a building site when I went past the other day.
No it hasn't,oh yes it has![]()
I reckon we spent about the same as we received in fees? Which isn't bad at Championship level. So nobody asked why we spent so little on transfers after selling Souza & Anel for big bucks?
how much do you think we received?I reckon we spent about the same as we received in fees? Which isn't bad at Championship level.
Not really sure on what we received and spent but it's got to be close?how much do you think we received?
We got around £12m for Souza. and a further £2m for Kieffer Moore. Not really sure on what we received and spent but it's got to be close?
We basically replaced Anel with Tanganga (8m)
Probably did which adds to the utterly depressing opinion of the people running our club.We got around £12m for Souza. and a further £2m for Kieffer Moore.
So even if Anel and Tanganga cancel each other out, there's no way we forked out anywhere near £14m on the other dross.
I thought that was a bit of an unfair question. I completely understand why it was raised, but it’s a sensitive subjectSaid no plans for a Baldock memorial either. Was confused he said its close to the year mark. Sure that was last week..
Handing my beloved club to CoH was like giving a matchstick model to a gorilla. In summary...
Confirmed that it was catastrophic naivete to sack Wilder and that everyone bar the football staff didn't/don't have a clue what they're doing both this and last season. There's a lot on here that won't like that being confirmed but confirmed it now is. Knowing that for sure they need to get football experts to represent themselves asap.
Nothe dore site was it specified what bit as here was a piece of land that been sat on for years and never succeeded in planning permission for houses wonder if its that
I'd be amazed if we were sold for anywhere near the 100 million they paid. Come may and no promotion our value will be at best half that.Wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if in the very near future these owners put the club back up for sale in the hope they get somewhere near what they paid out for it. I’d be quite happy if that should happen and just hope for once there will be someone employed at the club who can identify a bloody good purchaser. Who that person would be I haven’t a sodding clue.
We needed a public admission of their incompetence ...People moan that no one from the club speaks out
Then someone does an interview and just about every comment on here finds a negative view on what’s said
Wonder why they don’t speak up often?!
£10m for MatosProbably did which adds to the utterly depressing opinion of the people running our club.
I think he bravely admitted the owners are twats. The much trumpeted transfer revolution didn't add up to a packet of chips
I think SB was in the position of either lie, avoid the interview, or make yourself look like a twat. To his credit I don't think he lied.
We've lacked a good footballing man on the board since the days of DooleyTrue. But will they?
The club has needed a DoF or the like for many a year
We’re fooked aren’t we, owned by people with no cash or strategy…
SB just basically confirmed it. Nothing there to give us an ounce of a glimpse of what we’re aiming to achieve and how we do it….. throw it at the wall and see if it sticks plans never work…
This season is at best a wasted opportunity at worst our 10 year anniversary back to league 1. Well it was nice while it lasted. Back to football obscurity.
Totally depressing.

Agree, also to Bettis’ point about ‘how do you measure against others who’ve passed away?’ I think there’s a huge difference between a former player dying at the age of 75/80/85+ and one tragically dying at the age of 30 having been a fan favourite and only just having left the club. That's a signal that the owners are still looking to invest. They could have put a pause on the whole lot on the back of not getting promoted (PA would have put a stop to it had he still been owner)
I thought Bettis overall did okay, he pretty much confirmed what most of us suspected especially with regards to McBurnie not coming back etc. These owners are new to the game and they are starting to learn, a shame we had to have chaos of Selles for them to get it but here we are.
Despite what others have issue with, the thing I did have quite an issue with is lack of memorial for George. I get what Bettis is saying in terms of how do you measure him against other players of the past who pass away but George is one of the PL top tenners and a double promotion winner with us. I do think George deserves something to honour him at the club.
i think you might be surprised/concerned. I bet there isn’t much change out of that £14m.We got around £12m for Souza. and a further £2m for Kieffer Moore.
So even if Anel and Tanganga cancel each other out, there's no way we forked out anywhere near £14m on the other dross.
With respect Berkshire, he didn’t mention the inquest at all, and why should that matter anyway, it was a tragic event that the club should pay respects to anyway, regardless of any inquest results? Club showing to be heartless here, I’d be very disappointed if I were Maddy’s family. You are missing out a key aspect with what he said
Until the inquest is done it wouldn't be right to do anything imo
He did. He mentioned it specifically. With respect Berkshire, he didn’t mention the inquest at all, and why should that matter anyway, it was a tragic event that the club should pay respects to anyway, regardless of any inquest results? Club showing to be heartless here, I’d be very disappointed if I were Maddy’s family.
No he didn’t. He said it was a collective decision, which means a majority vote, and once a decision has been reach they (the whole board) are 100% behind it. A board cannot function any other way or you get a half arsed deployment or a mutiny.Since the takeover Bettis is also a director and on the board isn't he? So he is saying that in his role as CEO he had no input into the decision on the manager, and also in his role as director and board member? Unbelievable really. Maybe he was just concentrating on getting the carpark resurfaced
