I once did a job for an elderly couple in Scarborough, turns out it was station's aunt & uncle who confirmed that he has always been a Wednesday fan .
I guess thus isn't big news , just thought I'd share it .

I have absolutely no problem that he is. It’s the deceit that winds me up.

Really doing my head in now, boring on and on about England, endless going over the same theme night after night like a never ending Tony Hancock monologue

Best local football pundit .... quite right to slag England tactics! If you don't like it turn it off!

Agree, he's opinionated, confident and backs up his opinion with logic and reason.

When someone is good at their job (which he is), some people are jealous and like to bring them down a peg or two...it's the English way.
I like how when you have callers on Radio Sheffield slagging off managers and players, he doesn't give them an easy ride and asks them for reasons/ factors to back up there argument, on some occasions the caller can't and are made to look stupid which is what simple callers deserve.

So agree that in some ways he DOES act like he owns the show, instead of letting callers ring up to let off some steam.
He kind of interrogates them bringing up decent factors to contradict their argument, basically he plays devils advocate and likes a good argument.
Think it makes better radio instead of just letting callers say "they were crap" when their club loses or "they were brilliant" then their club wins.

Couldn't care less if he's Wednesday fan, he shows no bias, in fact, at times he seems to slag off Wednesday more than any other club.
Anyway I heard the Praise or Grumble celebrations a few year back when they interviewed several of the presenters who hosted Praise and Grumble over the decades. Virtually all of them explained that they grow up supporting a team but when you're involved so much local teams you build up a genuine love of all the local teams. It's similar to many footballers too, they might support a team as a boy but when they play for other teams they kind of support them too.

I really enjoy his work.

If you want someone in the trenches with you he’s your man. He’s more than happy to go and ask the manager the difficult questions when they’re under pressure even though he knows he’ll get a spiky response.

He doesn’t suffer fools gladly and surely for the long term of the show that is a good thing.

Whether he supports or supported Wednesday before or now, he takes the local angle each time when talking about a club. He’s informed and coherent with what he says.

I think he deserves a bigger stage than local radio to be honest but depends what suits him and of course he’s well into American football so perhaps his current role allows him time to support that interest too.

Just my view anyway. Everyone is entitled to their own. 👍

My mate some him wearing a pig shirt, last week.
2 team city very much a 50/50 split Your gunna get it. Sheffields not Leeds. Tiz what it tiz. I wouldn’t have it any other way

The one who I can't stand is the one who puts on the dramatic voice and non stop calls Andy Giddings "Gidds" like some teeny chav.

Staton has shown on many occasions he can't handle being ribbed. Proper wet lettuce of a man. Almost started crying once when a caller took the pish out of a picture of him. Lemon.

Dont mind him , but to be kicked out of Hull would be sad . Paul Walker every time for me , in fact he should do MOTD and get shut of those paid a fortune to say i fink i fink i fink all the time .
