Not sacking Warnock soon enough.
Which kind of points out how difficult it is.

When? Halfway through the PL season? Great idea.

Warnock was the best thing to happen to United in the past 20 years, Bob.

I point at our league position to illustrate that claim, and ask you to disprove it.

Robbie why is it mcabes fault, I accept at the end of the day he is ultimately responsible but what more should he have done

Because he's in charge and make the big decisions? If he ran a company with genuine shareholders and Board he'd have been booted out years ago.

What more? Seriously?

If you're in charge of a large organisation and you aren't a specialist in that area you employ specialists.

Our scouting has been woeful for over a decade
Our recruitment has been woeful for over a decade
The Board have been woeful for over a decade
The club's media and off the field decision making has been woeful for over a decade
His communications have been woeful for over a decade

I can understand why people are thankful for his investment in the club and the fact that we've not been decimated but I can;t understand why people would keep backing a repeated failure.

Warnock has proven time after time that he isn't up to managing in the premiership. Shame we didn't pull the trigger once we were promoted.
To prove it look at all the Premiership teams he's managed and how long he/they have lasted.

I would rather be watching my team at bdtbl than out of town under a foreign investor with no affiliation to Sheff Utd

The Ground is owned by someone who lives in Belgium, not the Football Club, whats to say it aint gonna happen under the McCabes ..... just wondering out loud

He has made mistakes, who hasn't, but he has put managers in and supprted them, are you honestly saying if you were fortunate enough to be in his shoes you would have got the right people in and been successful? There is an enormous amount of luck in getting it right

I suspect his energy and appetite for continuing to sink money and time into a bottomless pit, without being able to control the outcomes, has waned. Circumstances have led to him getting in much deeper than he could ever have anticipated and, consequently, it's harder to get out. That said, if a good (however he defines that) exit opportunity materialised, he'd be crazy to ignore it.

Agree totally. It depends on how much he will be willing to lose, IF, a buyer comes along.

After reading the statement again though, he offers no detail as to further investment ( the £8m "investment" will seemingly be swallowed up by losses) or recruitment or the future role if the academy. He concentrates on the "ill luck" of the past etc rather like his major critics on here concentrate on perceived balls ups do when berating him. It's gone, he's culpable but it's the future thats important now, and we know nothing more about plans for that than we knew last night.

If you haven't I'd recommend listening to the interview. It's 15' long.

If somebody else (not afan) was runnin/owning our club for the last few years and a certain rich, self made man and a football fan who was a blade wanted to buy our club some woukd be wetting themselves, then a few years later when it doesn't work out slag him off because he doesn't know what he is doing, unlike some on herewho obviously are rich self made millionaires who have never had to make an important discision in there lives but can tell someone else how to do it, fuckin priceless

But we were still more successful in terms of league position than any manager since? And before him right the way back to Harry Bassett.

But he split it away from the Club, which is a Boothy type move, and is the bothery bit

It's worth considering that it was split away from the club in case the deal with the Prince imploded and - assuming HRH came up with enough cash to own half of everything of course - BL went up for sale by an insolvency practitioner.

Mr Booth didn't have such concerns he just wanted out.

And relegation from the Premiership was the start of our problems and ultimately finding ourselves where we are now. Therefore replacing a manager who was clearly out of his depth in he Premiership would have been a good start.

Does he go into detail on future planning?

I'm deducing you've got some high level (higher than my bookkeeping at an old people's home 20 years ago at any rate) finance/accountancy background and there's nothing very particular if that's what you're after. It's more a direction of travel.

Summarised in another thread but may be best to hear it from the horse's mouth.

My take is he's right behind Adkins. His answer can be read as mealy-mouthed but it's like asking a scientist for certainty. Or a philosopher if the sun's going to come up.

(Not verbatim) Q: Will Nigel be here next season if we're not promoted?
A: People move around all the time.

He then does go on to be much more categorical.

As always, for me, it's not so much the words on the page as the tone of voice, all the non-verbal stuff.

He doesn't give interviews often so I reckon it's worth listening - and trying to figure out from there what's going on.

Quite, normal people like nurses, doctors, paramedics, teachers, parents etc hav never had to make important decisions. Only millionaires, and self-made ones at that.

Time for bed chaps, had a few sherbets earlier but meant every one of my comments tonight, anyway when I wake in the morning I will be thinking we played ok yesterday and won, and Wendy? They fuckin lostt! Roll on Sunday mornin

The man is full of shit.
A club with the potential to be premier league, and which could have been Yorkshires number 1 for years to come, is in division 3, rife with problems including a players mutiny. I could write paragraphs about the problems but you have read them all on here before, ad nauseam.
So what to do - go along with 'trust me, no one is a bigger Seth', or fuck off McCabe. I'm the latter camp, who can't be with his record. If anyone wants to get shot of him at a fair price for third division perennial failures, count me in. We'll be wanting the freehold though.

Not replacing our injured primary striker would have helped.

So which PL ready manager was available at the drop of a hat to replace NW at that time?

I heard his comments on Adkins in Statons interview on the way to the ground. When he eventually answered.

All I asked was if he mentioned future plans on investment etc. pretty much a yes or no answer rather than a journey around my cv. (And yours).

If you mean Hulse he was seriously injured in March when the transfer window was closed I believe.

Errrr, with a bit of planning Hulses standin should have already been at the Club

Much like Michael Browns ..............................

Yup. But Colin spent the money " for the future" remember. That's not McCabes fault. Other than for letting NW deal with the financials that is :)
