ST Prices from Monday - Rip Off

I see it this way, £12 for 2 hours of entertainment from 2 live bands that would easily outweigh a game of football, entertainment wise. Or, £18 or 1.5 hours of drab football. I know what I see more value in. For me, the only real value is an early bird concession season ticket, which I have got. If I'd have not got the early bird, I'd not have bothered.

Edit: £18 would be for an adult. £14 for me but the point still stands.

I don't think you're comparing like with like. Live bands are indeed good entertainment (and who doesn't love a bit of prog rock, right?). But a band will practice their set over and over and deliver it (hopefully) perfectly every time. You know what you're going to get.

But we don't go to football primarily to be entertained. If we did, we could have 'em under the Trades Description Act. Entertainment is always a bonus. No, we go to the Lane because we want to / feel compelled to support the team. It's a completely different beast.

Erm, I think it's the club that's forgot half time entertainment. We don't have any, do we? Unless you class subs warming up and a bit of usually shit music as entertainment.

I did take up the early bird renewal the main reason Im moaning is that theyve put the price up £60 for people that were probably waiting to see what division we were in before decicding to buy a ST
Im pretty sure in previous years theres only been about a £20 difference between early bird renewals
I know a couple of people that were considering buying a ST and theyve said they aint paying nearly £500 for 3rd division football

Good job they don't support Chesterfield then.

Out of interest I looked at what our play off failure compratiots want for next season and their early bird price for the cheapest ticket is more than ours was although renewals for that are still open. They then have a second tier of pricing which is more expensive than we are now asked to pay and finally a third tier with eye watering prices for the real late comers.

I looked before work this morning and can't remember the numbers but they certainly show what good value we offer, unless the Spirites just happen to be the most expensive club in the league! If you want more details they're all freely availablke on their website.

That's £380 for 23 matches, or about £16 a match. These days you can't do anything for much less than that for entertainment. Cinema is about the same price, theatre, live comedy or music concert will be an awful lot more. A trip to the zoo, aquarium or a museum would also be more expensive. I genuinely think £16 a match is quite reasonable, even at League One level.

It's not just about paying to watch a football match, it's the atmosphere, sharing the good and the bad times with your mates, having a pint pre match, and don't forget the half time entertainment, when blades are together the price is worth it.

Bladebri , yes , some of the performance this season have definitely been priceless.

Football tickets are a rip off. Premiership should be no more than £20 per game, Championship £17, League one £15, League two £13. That is what I have always thought anyway. It is ok though because football clubs don't have any competition for selling tickets as we aren't going to be going Hillsborough, Oakwell, or anywhere else if they charge less. Clubs have fans right where they want them!

I thought that the early bird price for the Kop for a new season ticket was £365 - that's only £15 less than they are charging now (not £60)?

Their choice but how much will they end up paying should the club start well and be in contention for promotion all season? Probably more than the standard season ticket prices.

The increase in ticket prices were clear for all to see. If they chose not to gamble on them getting a potential bargain to watch Champ football I don't get how you or they can complain.

Depends on whether you're a renewal, returning ST holder or new - I'm new so difference between what I paid and the increased prices is only £15. For someone who was renewing, the gap between what they paid and the full price will be a lot more.

Cinemas in Bath must be quite expensive. My local cinema is half that price.
