That's £380 for 23 matches, or about £16 a match. These days you can't do anything for much less than that for entertainment. Cinema is about the same price, theatre, live comedy or music concert will be an awful lot more. A trip to the zoo, aquarium or a museum would also be more expensive. I genuinely think £16 a match is quite reasonable, even at League One level.
 
Season ticket sales were around 10,000 after the early bird offer so you were talking another 2000 tops on top of that.

Depends on how we are doing to see how many pay on the day.

I think 15 - 16k average is still a good bet.

And for those who don't want to sit on the Kop, it's around £21 per match which is pretty crap value I reckon.

Just depends what you class as entertainment BB, as much as i have gone this season i have not been entertained on a numerous of occasions and personally feel that i overpayed to watch us this season, although i'll be there again next season no matter who's in charge.

went out with a Grimsby fan tonight who has been paying £16 for conference football this season.
 
It's certainly a lot more than league one football should be, but for football even at league one level, it's not that much. If you get me?
 



To put it in context, Alfreton charged £18/game this season - to watch mostly part time players.

Football is no longer a cheap day out at any decent level.

Maybe the OP should have taken up the early bird offer if they are so price sensitive.

There were tickets knocking around for some of the games at the back end of last season for (IIRC) £6 per game and there are usually other deals on during the season (season ticket "bring a friend" type deals, discounted early kick offs/Tuesday games). With tickets priced at £22 and £18 for cat A/B games, you have to think that there is very little value in buying a season ticket at that price to save money over the season, you may save a little bit, if you attend absolutely every game, but IMHO, they should be much cheaper than £16 per game! (that is obviously ignoring the other benefits you also get with a season ticket; sitting in your own chosen seat every game, points for away tickets, being able to buy things discounted, etc).

For some groups it must make zero sense to buy a season ticket (i.e. students, surely cheaper just to pop along to the student box office before every game, no?).
 
It's not just about paying to watch a football match, it's the atmosphere, sharing the good and the bad times with your mates, having a pint pre match, and don't forget the half time entertainment, when blades are together the price is worth it.

I see it this way, £12 for 2 hours of entertainment from 2 live bands that would easily outweigh a game of football, entertainment wise. Or, £18 or 1.5 hours of drab football. I know what I see more value in. For me, the only real value is an early bird concession season ticket, which I have got. If I'd have not got the early bird, I'd not have bothered.

Edit: £18 would be for an adult. £14 for me but the point still stands.

Erm, I think it's the club that's forgot half time entertainment. We don't have any, do we? Unless you class subs warming up and a bit of usually shit music as entertainment.
