Yep. Very sharp on your comment as posted on the official club website. Welcome oh strange user name.....😎

Anybody remember those polls Darren did on the best players for every squad number?

29 was Tommy Black and 30 was Kyle Naughton.

Nightmare squad, number 26: Johnny Egan - which would put him in both squads by now (as he's a better No. 12 than Alan Quinn IMO).

I’d completely forgotten these existed. Would surely be a few changes if this was revisited now – someone stick in a reminder for preseason. Sharp would comprehensively beat Pesch for the number 10 for example. And plenty of the Adkins era may make an appearance in the nightmare squad.

I think the current aquad would virtually wipe out that best squad apart from the odd one or two, particularly the defenders. I'd say Duffy and Coutts would be in there too at 21 and 15.

My number 1 concern for next season is what number Sander Berge takes.

We can't allow 32 to become randomly meaningful so he keeps it, that simply isn't acceptable.

His old number of 25 or lower, for me.
Ideally, 8. Freeman at 7, Lundstram at whatever he fancies from the rest.

He’ll be 8 or 15 next season definitely

For the same reason we didn’t allow Luke Freeman to leave this window, I’m not sure we’ll be necessarily overly keen to move him on in the next one. But 15 looks likely to be available in the event Jagielka decides to hang up his boots. Even if he doesn’t, I think it’s probably unlikely we give him another year. Odds-on Berge gets the number 15 he wanted.
