1. Simonson - Rubbish. Possibly good enough for League 1, but instills little to no confidence in both the crowd and his defence.
2. Jordan - on a 1 year contract, and won't be here next season.
3. Maguire - Academy player.
4. Montgomery - Keep, but on reduced wages, or sell. Knowing McCabe, sell.
5. Morgan - Keep, but on reduced wages. Probably will want to stay.
6. McFadzean - Another academy player.
7. Henderson - A season of backing into League 1 defenders won't suit him, and his wages will be too high. He'll go, probably for a pittance.
8. Doyle - Get rid sharpish. He'll stay if Adams stays though.
10. Bogdanovic - Keep hi, and perhaps for novelty value of nothing else let himn start a few games.
11. Smalley - Academy player.
12. Tomlinson - Academy player.
14. Williamson - He might remain fit enough to worry League 1 sides, but he's another that will be on big wages. Try to replace as soon as possible.
15. Taylor - Will be suited to League 1.
17. Cresswell - Get rid. Far too slow. He might be suited to League 1, but however much he's getting paid it's too much even if he's on £50 a week.
22. Kozluk - Keep. Would be ideal at League 1 level.
24. Parrino loan - Sign him if we can.
26. Riise loan - Sign this lad too, not that he'll want to trade Premier League money for League 1 scraps.
28. Quinn - Keep him, but like Morgan and Monty on realistic wages.
32. Chappell - Academy player.
34. Lowton - Keep him, but please try to play him at right back, he's better there.
35. Slew - Academy/borderline 1st team player.
37. James - Academy player.
I've not seen enough of the Academy players to make a judgement, but there are at least a couple that have been left out of that list that spring to mind - Harriot and Long. There needs to be a decent overhaul of the squad, and I can't see it happening because when it's been required in the past it hasn't happened. Players that haven't performed need to be got rid of, and there's a very good argument for getting rid of almost all of the first team squad because they simply have not been good enough. Whether that's all down to them or to the merry-go-round of managers is open to debate.
