Spotted this team photo on the wall outside the gents at the Stonegate Yard in York this lunchtime.

Recognised one or two faces.20171213_163954.jpg

Bottom left, front row is Steve Senior, who went to Gleadless Valley with me and Grappler.

He put the own goal in when they were beating (I think) Liverpool in the FA Cup. Good defensive midfielder - always destined to go pro or semi pro at one stage. Played for Northampton and Wigan an all.

Hansa lager....

A great Anglicised name for pseudo German piss water made in a vat in some pokey new town development.

Steinbock from Shepherd Neame being the local one round here and I'm sure Sam Smiths had some good ones too. Grunhalde being a personal favourite from Greenalls...

Also the name of the (actually German) record label whose most famous act was Boney M.

And that bloke right in middle of front row has a nose that'd put Warnock to shame.

Correction. They were beating Liverpool - he went up for a challenge and the ball hit his arm. Penalty. 1-1.

How he could expect a ref to go against the mighty Liverpool back in them days is beyond me.

12 minutes in.

He lived next block on from the Wards's whose house was grievously assaulted by a crane back in the mid seventies when it rolled back across the street into it.
