That's right, with those wages and his injury record no club is going anywhere near him.Not sure how that’s possible.
Google says he’s on £40K to £50K a week until 2028. Next season….we receive just £7 million from Sky TV…..instead of £45 million for 1st year parachute clubs…..reduced to £35 million to 2nd year parachute clubs (like us).
Maybe we can get him on a loan…but like Philips…..if he’s on a lucrative contract….he’s not going to accept a 50% to 75% pay cut to come here.

There’s no incentive to rip up their contracts. If Leicester go down they’re odds on for admin again and players will be a preferred creditor. They can dig their heels in, or do what half of wendies squad did in the summer and leave on free if they don’t get paid.Agree…..it’s sad really that players like Philips and Souttar are kind of trapped.
They can just sit on the bench….doing very little apart from turning up to training and in the meantime they both become millionaires.
Or they can rip up their contracts and accept a massive 75% pay cut but at least they’ll likely be playing football.
I suppose an option is both Leicester and Man City might let them go for nothing…..and do a deal paying off half their remaining contract.
It would mean that both could accept a much lower salary at Sheff Utd but they don’t lose out too much.
I suppose Souttar needs to think about his international career with Australia too.
The salary that they’re offered reflects their current value to a team though. Taking the first option would be correctly vilified.Agree…..it’s sad really that players like Philips and Souttar are kind of trapped.

Jordan james shouldn't cost that much, Leicester have an option to buy for £5m.. we should be able to afford that especially if we move some people on & I wouldnt be against selling peck and replacing with James woth spare change to invest elsewhere in the squad. We'll be raiding Leicester in the summer I think. I'd be amazed if Wilder isn't sniffing around for Choudhury (don't want) and Souttar (do want, if cheap/can stay fit). Shame we're skint as think we'd go for Jordan James too, who Leicester have the option to sign permanently. Would be a great addition, but looks unlikely.
We’ve seen firsthand the drop off with Egan & Ogbene how bad Achilles injuries can affect a player.
That’s just ridiculous he was immense for us but he’s suffered a career threatening injury would be gambling bringing him backSoutar should be our first signing.
