That's right, with those wages and his injury record no club is going anywhere near him.Not sure how that’s possible.
Google says he’s on £40K to £50K a week until 2028. Next season….we receive just £7 million from Sky TV…..instead of £45 million for 1st year parachute clubs…..reduced to £35 million to 2nd year parachute clubs (like us).
Maybe we can get him on a loan…but like Philips…..if he’s on a lucrative contract….he’s not going to accept a 50% to 75% pay cut to come here.

There’s no incentive to rip up their contracts. If Leicester go down they’re odds on for admin again and players will be a preferred creditor. They can dig their heels in, or do what half of wendies squad did in the summer and leave on free if they don’t get paid.Agree…..it’s sad really that players like Philips and Souttar are kind of trapped.
They can just sit on the bench….doing very little apart from turning up to training and in the meantime they both become millionaires.
Or they can rip up their contracts and accept a massive 75% pay cut but at least they’ll likely be playing football.
I suppose an option is both Leicester and Man City might let them go for nothing…..and do a deal paying off half their remaining contract.
It would mean that both could accept a much lower salary at Sheff Utd but they don’t lose out too much.
I suppose Souttar needs to think about his international career with Australia too.
The salary that they’re offered reflects their current value to a team though. Taking the first option would be correctly vilified.Agree…..it’s sad really that players like Philips and Souttar are kind of trapped.

Jordan james shouldn't cost that much, Leicester have an option to buy for £5m.. we should be able to afford that especially if we move some people on & I wouldnt be against selling peck and replacing with James woth spare change to invest elsewhere in the squad. We'll be raiding Leicester in the summer I think. I'd be amazed if Wilder isn't sniffing around for Choudhury (don't want) and Souttar (do want, if cheap/can stay fit). Shame we're skint as think we'd go for Jordan James too, who Leicester have the option to sign permanently. Would be a great addition, but looks unlikely.
We’ve seen firsthand the drop off with Egan & Ogbene how bad Achilles injuries can affect a player.
That’s just ridiculous he was immense for us but he’s suffered a career threatening injury would be gambling bringing him backSoutar should be our first signing.
But he's a Bladey McBladey former player. We're only really interested in signing players/managers with a link to us....That’s just ridiculous he was immense for us but he’s suffered a career threatening injury would be gambling bringing him back
Yea let’s bring back Norwood or what about Fleck can Duffy still do a bit !But he's a Bladey McBladey former player. We're only really interested in signing players/managers with a link to us....
Fuck finding the next Anel or Ndiaye and trying to expand that net a little wider!
Leicester have the option for £5m, but I expect Rennes to demand more than that to other clubs as he's been excellent for them.Jordan james shouldn't cost that much, Leicester have an option to buy for £5m.. we should be able to afford that especially if we move some people on & I wouldnt be against selling peck and replacing with James woth spare change to invest elsewhere in the squad.
Pretty sure i read someone on here advocating for us bringing Lundstram and Egan back on Saturday evening....Yea let’s bring back Norwood or what about Fleck can Duffy still do a bit !
Fortunately thanks to a reply on another thread I now understand the nature of this insult from one blades “fan” to another. I’ve opened up a bingo style card and it’s quite interesting seeing just how sad a few individuals can be. Points can be made without the insults but I guess that’s not as much fun?But he's a Bladey McBladey former player. We're only really interested in signing players/managers with a link to us....

£4m* sorry.... and he has 2 years left on his contract, I cant see them wanting much more especially that he could join them at this bargin price (even though we know that Leicester wont if they go down).Leicester have the option for £5m, but I expect Rennes to demand more than that to other clubs as he's been excellent for them.

If they genuinely want to play games of football then they’d move to a level that they can compete at, and they’d accept the salary that comes with that level.
We’re not talking about them being a L2 player on £100k a year facing going non-league and earning £50k a year, in that case you might stick your contract out. In Phillips’ case he’d be earning £25k+ a week still, granted it’s not £150k but it’s still ok.
I wouldn’t blame him at all, I just think he should expect to be called out on it.Agree but what would most people choose if offered the following
2026-2028 (2 seasons)
Option A: Do you play most weeks (receiving criticism, possible adulation abuse) for £25K a week (£1.3 million a year = £2.6 million)
Option B: Don’t play any 1st team match (no pressure or hassle/ abuse), just turn up for training for £150K a week (£7.8 million a year = £15.6 million).
So in Kalvin Phillips case…..would imagine he wants to play games
But joining us on £25K means he’s losing £13 million…..don’t think anyone would pay £13 million to see game time for 2 seasons.
He’s not going to play for England anymore….wouldnt blame him for basically sitting at home watching his bank balance grow.

According to reports Zatterstrom didn't look that good in the U21s.On the positive side I think he’d be a real good partner for Tanganga and I’d be happy with McGuinness and Zatterstrom as backups.
For example , Blaster is still nowhere near his best and I'm not sure where McCallum's up toWas monumental for us but it would be prudent to see if he can recover his form before signing him. We have seen so many of our own who just never do after serious injury.
We need to be VERY careful not to let our heart rule our head with SouttarNo for me, we need to learn our lesson. Good player but injured often and bad injuries, we’ve had more than our fair share of those recently.
I wouldn’t blame him at all, I just think he should expect to be called out on it.
If it were me, I’d explain to everyone that by moving to another club it would cost me £13m, and if they didn’t like it they’re welcome to get bent!

If man city want him out of the door they will have to pay the vast majority of his contract up .he's not walking out of 15m worth of contract for 5Agree but what would most people choose if offered the following

Would imagine a deal will be done with Man City….instead of paying him £15.6 million….they might pay him £5 million to rip up his contract.
Then at least Man City have saved themselves £10.6 million and he then becomes a free agent….so we could then afford to offer him £25K a week.
I've allus bin appeh wiv me Guinness , as long as it's poured correctlyWe’ve seen firsthand the drop off with Egan & Ogbene how bad Achilles injuries can affect a player. Nearly two full seasons out is not a player I’m sure I’d be gambling on unless it’s a short term well priced deal.
On the positive side I think he’d be a real good partner for Tanganga and I’d be happy with McGuinness and Zatterstrom as backups.
