It would be a tough call for CW should Southampton indeed express an interest although given that, believe it or not, Gary Megson at 100/1 is more likely to get the role that CW (who is not even quoted), I'd say the chances of that happening are quite remote.

That said, they aren't in a great place at all at the moment - recent change of ownership, Les Reed gone and now requiring a new manager - all with a poor squad that seems destined for relegation. This time next year, they may well be in a worse position than Utd.

Discussions around Utd's budget for JTW may also be a factor for CW.
