However, the yearly deaths vary widely¾from a high of 28,330 in 2014/15 to a low of 1,692 in 2018/19. Public Health England does not publish a mortality rate for the flu.


Yet nothing stops when seasonal flu is knocking about.

Seasonal flu kills 0.1% of those affected and only 5% of the population catches it each year.
Covid-19 kills 5% of the population (when the healthcare system is overwhelmed) and is likely to be caught by upto 80% of the population - we have no immunity.

If we do nothing upto 3 million deaths in the UK.

Every day we delay the lockdown we increase cumulative cases by 40%.
