I'm the other way.
I think Wilder made his mind up on Bennie immediately, gave up on Souza after a while, then lost hope in McAtee late on.
I dont think he knew what to make of Slimane. I reckon he has a better attitude than those others and hasn't had the game time just yet to show what he has to offer.

I suspect Wilder didn't play him last season because he was nowhere near fit enough, probably to an extent that there was an ultimatum around Easter time. It sounds like he's shaped up to avoid being shipped out.

I'd like to think he'll have the same approach he had with Coutts & Freeman, as long as our budget isn't predicated on shifting Slimane. This system we've played so far in pre-season looks a way better fit for him - much like it was for Coutts when Wilder came in. Fingers crossed for an impact this season.

The last 2 will go out on loan and Souza may leave but we are looking strong in this area and might add Dozell to it

You've missed centre back which after keeper is our biggest need, especially if Anel goes

Don’t worry. As long as we score more than we concede we can get by with the two that we have.
If we had unlimited funds then we get a new keeper, but in the meantime we concentrate on defenders and strikers.

I'd be delighted if Slimane and Souza stayed and made a proper go of it, they've got quality that if we're able to harness it, would be much greater than anything we can buy in on our current budget. We've got behind players in the past we thought weren't good enough or had the wrong attitude, look how Coutts turned out for us.
