Sky Sports is saying all EFL games are live from 7.35 pm. I will have to wait until then and go through the match Choice. I will be pissed off if our game is not shown.
"A full round of fixtures takes place on Monday, 29 December, with eight of those games selected for live coverage on Sky Sports.

These games are displaced Saturday matches, so reflect the usual number of TV selections for a Saturday fixture list."

Weirdly its not on viaplay.fi for me here in Finland, which is odd as usually most of our games get shown, wonder if there's some weird block on broadcasting this game even internationally? !?!?
Aren't they linked to the Paramount lot? Potentially if not on Paramount + in the USA not on there?

What are they on about displaced Saturday games? This was never going to be played on a Saturday.

Pass

All I know is its not on my tv and im left with the this lineup.

I think its tractor, sauna, then watch flashscores update every so often.

I may be going off on a tangent, but didnt a pub win a battle in court a few years ago to stream games in their pub as they were using streams from the continent?

And if you get say Bein sports or something it isn't illegal?

And that's why it's not in the list of 8 games shown further down on that EFL page.

For the championship it's just the 2 selected games plus the Blackburn Pigs game that was abandoned.

KO 19.45 Monday December 29th
SUTV Video restricted not available in your area why?
Its not Saturday 3pm KO looks like the same is happening to Ukkonnen in Finland
Who can really explain what is going on surely some manager from Sky could explain or even the organisers of SUTV
Even tried Stoke City TV but the same message comes up
I'll have to find the radio because you are not allowed to listen to the match on RS via a laptop
The wonders of technology!!

if I have a vpn, can I get it on SUTV still? Don’t want to pay and then find out I can’t get it.

Oh dear you're one of those brainwashed sheep that think the government really care about you and your family.

If these pricks want to charge us extortionate prices, then they can stick it up their arse. I completely understand why people do it.

Yet again someone completely missing the point. I'm not surprised 🤷‍♂️ .

Having seen your stance on all this earlier, is that actually legal? (apologies if you are physically based abroad rather than virtually)

I haven't got a "stance" on it as you say. I don't judge anyone. All I've commented on is how "acceptable" using illegal streams seems to be.

No I'm not based abroad. I've used a workaround to be able to view the game and paid £10 for the privilege. £10 that will go to the club as it has been purchased through the official club site.

I think you saying "Well done for breaking the law" says to me you have got a stance. The VPN has been advertised by the club, but the "workaround" as you call it has not, as far as I'm aware, ever been explicitly condoned and I think it's unlikely that it would be by them and certainly not by the EFL.

I have been in the room when someone may have had on the occasional dodgy stream so I'm not in position to judge anyone on this but you saying you are pretending to live abroad does seem a tad hypocritical to me?

Do I need to say anymore?

use a VPN to pretend you are in a country where you can legally watch a game, and then watch it via SUTV
So here is the answer as to why here in the UK we are not allowed to watvh our team direct from SUTV
Hi Peter,

Owing to changes made as part of the new broadcasting rights cycle, supporters in the UK can no longer live stream any match through SUTV. This is the same for all teams in the Championship.

Kind Regards,

Marketing

Who decides the new broadcasting gights?

It certainly has nothing to do withe the supporters

I have this morning replied to the email that I received from SUTVwhich I copy below
Morning

Thanks for your reply so quick was it actually written by a human if so then they must work late! or was it a generic reply?
Who decides on the broadcasting rights cycle?
Who can I contact to find out what made these faceless people decide what I can or cannot watch
Do any supporters of the Championship clubs have any input?
No teams in the Championship are allowed to live stream any matches so unless sky or TNT or Amazon put them on then the only way to watch the games is through an illegal site
By the very ruling you I don't mean you personally I mean the decision makers actively encourage the use of illegal sites.
Why were we not shown on Sky last night it was not a Saturday 3.00pm kick off
I look forward to your reply

Unless we the supporters get together we will be dictated to by whoever are the broadcasting rights decision maker

Why did you waste your time? This is basically the response you'll get.

The EFL decide the broadcasting rights cycle, the previous one had games on SUTV Live, the current one has games on Sky Sports+ instead, either way last night's game wouldn't have been shown in the UK.

The line after that is a pathetic entitled strop but the people at the EFL do have faces. Supporters of Championship clubs don't have input but owners do and agreed to the current TV deal when it was put out to tender.

Sky show what games they're allowed, if they could have shown all of yesterday's games they would have. TNT and Amazon have no rights to the EFL so even mentioning them is irrelevant and makes you sound like a clueless bratty idiot. Watching the game was also possible by going to the game, so illegal streaming wasn't the only option.

Although last night's game wasn't a Saturday, the TV contract has a set number of weekend rounds in it that only allow Sky to show a set number of proper games with six on red button. Last night was technically a weekend, so is next Sunday, so although the Blades' game with Oxford is on Sky, it's only because it's one of the six + games, most Championship games aren't available.

More or less everything in life is dictated to you by someone else, sporting rights have always been this way, the people who own the rights decide what's available, not the entitled moron end user. It's the same for what's available in shops, what's on TV, even on stuff like Netflix and Spotify where you choose what you want, you're only choosing from what someone else is letting you choose from.

Get a life you sad loser,
The EFL

It is people like you the reason I don't bother coming here very often I am not a sad loser there was no strop in anything that i wrote But thanks for explaining how these things work perhaps a more politely would have been nice oh and a Happy New Year to you

Actually, the TV contract has a set number of MIDWEEK rounds not weekend (nine) where all games are allowed to be shown plus Boxing Day, New Years Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday. Outside of that Sky can select upto three Championship matches for early kick off on a Saturday plus through the season a set number of games that can be moved to Friday evening/Sunday afternoon. Last night and next Sunday are not regarded as part of the nine midweek rounds.

To me, it depends on the situation. If you’re choosing to get IPTV as a cheaper alternative to paying for Sky, then that’s thief in my view. I will caveat that by saying I don’t really care if people want to do, it’s up to them.

The other situation is when there is no legal way to watch a match in the UK because of stupid rules like the Saturday 3pm blackout. That’s fair game to me, everyone can do as they please because there is no alternative. The EFL and Premier League need to allow all games to be available in the UK to watch online, all the blackouts do is increase illegal streaming.

Yes Blade that is what I was saying in my email to SUTV it must increase the use of illgal streaming but I suppose in the long run it comes down to money and not the supporters
