Simon Moore

He's been fine this season (not so long since posters were saying he was the best keeper since Paddy, which I agree with).

Everyone has a bad game, let's not jump on his back! TBH, I didn't agree with the amount of abuse Long got on here, but there was a pattern of mistakes there.

Makes no sense at all to get on Moore's back because of one bad game. It can only hurt him, and by extension, hurt our promotion chances.

He's been mostly solid this season, let's get behind him?
Just a mention. Long has been playing really well at under 23s. I have been impressed with his play and attitude towards his young defenders

You ain't going to get a perfect keeper at this level.
Moore looks dodgy under pressure and is susceptible with driven ground shots.
In his favour he's pulled some worldies off to keep us in games and his communication is ok.
Bottom line is he's not brilliant but he'll do for the time being.
If the errors continue Wilder will bring Ramsdale in don't worry about that.
These comments are not based on yesterday's performance.

I'm going to say something here that is going to stir the pot. A friend saw him out on Tuesday night and he was absolutely shitfaced. He was out with Billy and Basham who by all accounts weren't too drunk but Moore could barely stand.

GET HIM OUT

For the first two goals I was wondering if he needed glasses. They were such odd dives. Kind of like if you were drunk actually!

Not acceptable, if true.

Just like to re-iterate, he's definitely been a huge plus this season, both in terms of being solid and the way he communicates with the defence.

The last couple of games have been very worrying. Lacking concentration, making dreadful errors. Hopefully it will just be a blip and normal service will be resumed.

Simon Moore has pulled off some excellent saves this season, and is better then Long, Simmonsen, Howard, etc.

Yesterday was a bad day at the office and no one came out smelling of roses. Defence were cack, and there seemed to be a huge gap between defence and midfield at times. But let's not also forget that we were misfiring up front as well. We hardly looked like scoring.

I was utterly pissed off by the end of the game. We just could not get to grips with this Walsall side. And there was no "Bradford" type comeback (where we battled for a 3-3 draw).

The penalty was of little concern really, because we were never going to pull back to 3-3 anyway. Just one of those days.

Simon Moore between the sticks for the rest of the season for me.

As stated elsewhere, there is no issue with the lads having a few drinks and maybe Moore was simply playing the fool. I highly doubt it had any effect yesterday and I wish I hadn't posted it now as I was only taking the mickey out of his performance

Personally, I think there is an issue with them having a few drinks, unless it's a rare occasion.

But yes, he played like a drunk yesterday!

What worries me is that the goals he's conceded are very similar, they seem to be going through him and this was the case for a few earlier in the season, Scunny, Bradford for example. The defence didn't help yesterday but he should have done better with the actual shots.

I keep trying to work out whether he's just misjudging them or slow to get down. Very odd goals to concede. Whether it's a concentration issue or something else.

Wilder was pretty clear on where the problem lies. A quick counter attacking team up against O'Connell and EEL who played like fucking mannequins. Only one winner there.
Of course it would've helped if Basham hadn't spent two of their goals thinking he was a centre forward.

Don`t be too harsh on the bloke, yes he could have done better with 1st and 2nd goals, 3rd he was just wrong footed and 4th Freeman should have launched it instead of leaving it for Moore. Hope it`s just one of those days. UTB

Time for Wright again I reckon old head between two young uns

He's been a huge plus this season but always had the danger of being a bit shakey. Last couple of games he's been absolutely awful.

He's won us games and points this season.

He's at fault or all 4 goals today. fucking atrocious. not even bad. watch the highlights.

I'm hoping it;s just a blip. He's still young and this kind of thing will happen. Amateurish today.
Lets be honest you've been dying for this to happen all season ,since Oxford anyway ,hardly a word for months and then boom , straight in there. Still think Wilder isn't up to it ? So happy for him to make you look silly.

Oh, I was wrong about Wilder at the start of the season. Hands-up. Also, I trust him to sort out any problems we have.

In terms of Moore, I've said repeatedly, that he's been a great signing. The last couple of games have been worrying though. He's been poor on all 6 goals, and whilst the defence has to take a lot of the blame as well, just a worry. His performance yesterday was unacceptable. Hopefully it's a blip. Definitely the best and most important signing Wilder has made so far.

Now that I agree with. But whisper it on here because this is the EEL fan club you know? They like him because he looks like Mr T to them and they think he's invincible. It will take a little while longer before they realise that he's slow and flat-footed and will in no way be good enough at a higher level - which is why he's here.
starting to whiff Pork here on this kid lads

Bad day at the office for Simon.

Time to ditch the fitted shirts fella ;)

Tart !!

Moore getting a bit of stick on here but does anyone out there know his shot save percentage, it`s probably quite good, and while on that subject that clown at Man city, his stats must be very bad almost any shot on target goes in, why they offloaded Hart god knows.

It's why United employ Wilder, to assess and consider the why's and wherefore's. As I recall Moore has been a breath of fresh air this season, so write this off as a one-off. No one should be content with what happened yesterday, but unless there's an air of self-satisfaction about this squad I'd hope that each and every one of them will ensure that this week's training results in a return to standards. We had a let off yesterday where other team's results were concerned, and everyone connected with the Blades will know that they got a tanning yesterday because they didn't compete, simple as. Yes, the first half was adequate, but other than that those who wore the red and white stripes were humbled. I hope it's the last time we see anything like that this season.

That's still 4 days to recover though Roy, for probably the least (physically) demanding position on the field. If however he is doing this often it could be a problem. Surely Wilder is switched onto what the lads get up to out of hours though, surely? And with Sharp being present I can't see how this would go unchecked.

I can't see how he was responsible for the first goal, granted he could have probably done better but i was sat right behind Bokoyoko when he hit it and it was some finish. Agree about the second and the penalty but how he could be even considered responsible for the third is beyond me, Two bad mistakes but what went on in front of him was laughable for all four goals. Lafferty was missed yesterday and let's face it, we have no pace at the back.

Lets it get one thing straight... Moore is going to win is many more points that he will lose us so to see people start getting a bit jittery over some mistakes is a bit stupid to put it frankly.

Watching the highlights there I fail to see how its his fault for the 3rd and for the 4th while he didn't need to be out that far, I don't think he made contact and I actually think their attacker has pulled the wool over the ref's eyes. He's half way down to the ground before any contact is made.

You can have my agreement here.
I have posted before that fans should be careful what they wish for with EEL.
3 1/2 years should keep him away from our defence next season - there is better and we need PACE in both CH's if we are to stay in the division next season.
We should get away with JOC, can't get away with both.

This will all be forgotten at 5.00 next Saturday mukka.
Enjoy your after match drinks in the Lion.
