He's been a huge plus this season but always had the danger of being a bit shakey. Last couple of games he's been absolutely awful.

He's won us games and points this season.

He's at fault or all 4 goals today. fucking atrocious. not even bad. watch the highlights.

I'm hoping it;s just a blip. He's still young and this kind of thing will happen. Amateurish today.

That's just painful to watch. So many fuck ups defensively. Let's hope it's just a blip and normal service is resumed next week.

He's been so good and has definitely saved us points in games, which is what made today such a shock. It was so bad, I heard somebody wonder out loud if he'd taken a bung, which I assume was lighthearted. He was at fault for all four, he didn't anticipate where the shot would go for the first one, beaten at his near post for the second, never moved for the third and for the penalty, the danger seemed to have passed when he dived in. It could have been worse, he seemed to flip completely and came racing out of his area a couple of times and got away with it.

It's a blip, if not, he's got away with a lot in the previous 25 games.

I'm going to say something here that is going to stir the pot. A friend saw him out on Tuesday night and he was absolutely shitfaced. He was out with Billy and Basham who by all accounts weren't too drunk but Moore could barely stand.

GET HIM OUT

The first and second he could definitely have done better with but I'm not sure why the 3rd is his fault and for the 4th he was forced into the mistake by Freeman.

Ultimately the defending for all 4 goals was shocking and any keeper playing behind that sort of protection will concede goals

I am sure this was just a blip for Simon Moore. He has gained us more points than he has lost us this season but was at fault for all 4 goals today. The second one was the worst for me as I can't understand how he can get beat at his near post like that. His confidence had gone today and just hope this doesn't effect him on Saturday.
Let's not get on his back and knock his confidence any more he will pick him self back up I am sure wilder will have a little talk to him and let him know games like this happen and it's the next game that matters now.

Every team is going to drop points at some point and luckily today Bolton also lost and that has bailed us out a little. I am sure we will be back to our usual self's by the weekend. COME ON YOU BLADES!!!

I agree with what you have said with the 4th there. Freeman had a chance to clear it and left it for Moore to collect so maybe freeman should have cleared it, but on another day Moore would have been out for that straight away and got to it with out having to have been prompt by freeman to come out and get it. Saying that freeman should have been able to see that Moore had lost his confidence and wasn't the keeper he usually is and shouldn't have put Moore in that position. Let's not get on there backs though none of the team really showed up today but let's be honest 2 losses in 22 matches isn't bad going at all is it and this is the first game where we have lost where we can actually say we deserved to loose since the start of the season so let's just kick on from here everyone is bound to drop points through out the season it's who picks them self's back up the quickest and doesn't let it get to them.

oh, that excuse for defending definitely played a huge part, but I'd expect a keeper in a park to do better. 2 shots straight under him. The first seemed to just go under his tummy, the second was no better. He wasn;t set and didn't move for the third. The pen was just comedic.

Shaken....not stirred, or was that the other bloke?

We might be saying "that's seven games won on the trot since Walsall and both Scunny and Bolton put to the sword" on 28th Feb

He's been fine this season (not so long since posters were saying he was the best keeper since Paddy, which I agree with).

Everyone has a bad game, let's not jump on his back! TBH, I didn't agree with the amount of abuse Long got on here, but there was a pattern of mistakes there.

Makes no sense at all to get on Moore's back because of one bad game. It can only hurt him, and by extension, hurt our promotion chances.

He's been mostly solid this season, let's get behind him?

That's still 4 days to recover though Roy, for probably the least (physically) demanding position on the field. If however he is doing this often it could be a problem. Surely Wilder is switched onto what the lads get up to out of hours though, surely? And with Sharp being present I can't see how this would go unchecked.

Usually enjoy your posts Roy, but dont agree with you posting this. It's tabloid reporting level.

So he (with Bash and Billy) had a few beers? Maybe he was fucked because he doesn't usually drink? Maybe he just appeared more drunk? Maybe he just has a lower tolerance? Maybe he got a taxi home and the other two ended up more pissed than he did? Maybe it's useless second hand news?

Or maybe it was a just a group of lads enjoying a night out having been given the night (and following day) off?

I know there was some criticism of players last year on the piss the day before a game, or staying out till 5am a couple of days before a game, but do we really care about players drinking early in the week before a weekend game? (because I can pretty much guarantee you it happens up and down the country).

I was only joking to be honest. I don't think it had any bearing on today. It was a poor attempt at humour in regards to his performance today. I have no qualms at all with the lads going out and having a few drinks on their day off

So what. It's one game, seems everyone had an off day.

Besides, as big a fan as I am, Mr Ebanks-Landell had a significant hand in the first 3.

To suggest Moore was absolutely awful at Southend simply isn't true. The first goal I didn't think was down to him, though the 2nd when we'd relaxed he could have done better on. Outside of that though he commanded the box well and otherwise had a good game. He's had a rough game at Walsall, and it's hopefully a one-off.

Seriously , when we've had Simmo between the sticks who cost us promotion .
Long , who while being a good keeper didn't boss his area , and lead to a loss of confidence throughout the team .
We now have a good keeper , let's not make him a scape goat for 1 bad team performance .

We're not! He was dodgy at Southend the week before too!

By the way, a "scapegoat" is someone who is blamed unfairly for an occurrence. No one is making Moore a "scapegoat" for the defeat at Walsall yesterday. There's nothing unfair about blaming him for that at all because whilst others contributed to our downfall it was his incompetent goalkeeping that cost us the game.

Now that I agree with. But whisper it on here because this is the EEL fan club you know? They like him because he looks like Mr T to them and they think he's invincible. It will take a little while longer before they realise that he's slow and flat-footed and will in no way be good enough at a higher level - which is why he's here.

Very disappointed with the "could barely stand" bit if true. If I'd drunk that much the next day would be a wipe out and I'd probably still not be at my best the next day. Where does missing out on a couple of days of full training then leave things leading up to a game.

Something was clearly affecting his judgement yesterday, not once but several times, and it would appear booze is more important than maximising fitness and readiness for the game. I hope someone has a word. Not very professional.

When I listen to premiership players being interviewed in recent years they often say the big booze culture has largely gone now at the top of the game cos its clear it has an affect, some of them might be telling fibs but I'm inclined to believe it when I hear it so many times. Having one or two a few days before is fine by me but getting legless isn't.

Next time they're all out on the razz midweek can someone let the rest of us know and I'll do something other than travelling for hours to a game if this is how little some of them care. I can see piss heads with hangovers struggling to play in our local park any Sunday morning.

What worries me is that the goals he's conceded are very similar, they seem to be going through him and this was the case for a few earlier in the season, Scunny, Bradford for example. The defence didn't help yesterday but he should have done better with the actual shots.
