This "debate" will rumble on, hopefully without getting too feisty, but the only key issue is ....... what will happen going forwards into the summer?

If we retain the core of our best players, prune some dead wood effectively and invest wisely in 4/5 great quality Championship players, whilst appointing a new Manager with the intention to play exciting, attacking football ...... then I suspect that we will see the Club moving forward again.

Surely, that is what we all want as Blades fans.

If however, we see fire sales of many of the best, most promising players coupled with little investment in the first team squad, the training facilities stagnating and a mate of Bettis appointed as permanent Manager .......

I've been a Blade for 56 years now and I have seen a lot ( regarding the Club) but I shall stand by what has always helped me to maintain a resolute support of my team. The players, managers and owners are just temporary ...... the supporters are permanent !! COYRAWW

This man is bang on the button, hope this will make a few realise it's not all the boards fault in fact its mostly wilders and the players faults for this shocking season, the problem is wilder won't accept its his fault.

I haven't read through the whole thread but the obvious problem with what Jordan is saying is that there's an implicit assumption that the Prince was honest. Even ignoring that, there's an obvious bias in saying that when Wilder makes negative comments he's "using the media" in a way he shouldn't, but when the Prince comes on the radio and says everything behind the scenes is just rosy, well, that's not "using the media".

That's a great point mate. Whilst it is hard to disagree with Simon Jordan's points on a rational level, your point in what is the intentions and bias that may exist is something I had not considered. No doubt they are likely to be quite easy on the Prince given that he often is on the show. Obviously Jordan is also giving his perspective from the position of a Chairman which also slants his argument slightly. Overall Jordan makes some good points but he also has his biases as we all do.

Let's suppose, and it's not a stretch with what's being said about the training ground and DoF position and such, that the Prince was using the media to make everything sound like the board had given full backing to Wilder in order to lessen the impact of his inevitable departure? Essentially, saying the things he did just so that the likes of Simon Jordan would come out and put the focus all on the manager.

He has a reasonable point that Wilder wouldn't tolerate those kinds of comments from a player but then I'd say there's simply different expectations for different positions.

It's hard to take a side without knowing all of what's gone on behind the scenes but that also means that Simon Jordan doesn't just get to assume that the Prince's radio interviews were ones of honesty and Wilder's are ones of unfair media manipulation.

Both men are very skilled in using the press to manipulate/influence their views....for those who worry about the NDA’s....don’t....the leaks have already started.
