Hammomd has already agreed terms.
You just don't get it he does all this unseen work that is absolutely brilliant ...what I don't get is why most of what we actually do see is crap
Don't care either way.
Surprised if Adkins is allowed to sign anyone at the moment.
You're in dreamland mateIt should just make a very clear point to anyone at the club who sees this.
I have stuck up for Adkins a lot this season but if he signs Hammond then he will lose all my faith in him.We haven't signed him yet, and I am concious this will be criticising someone for what they haven't done yet, buuuut with the endless positive feedback Adkins gives re Hammond, his endless quest to sign in him the first place and the Star running the story that Adkins wants him as his first buy, then it is pretty obvious that if Adkins is here next season then so will Hammond.
And while I can forgive managers making mistakes in the transfer market, gambling on players that they think might do the required job and it not working out. If Adkins decides to sign him after seeing at first hand how past it and ineffective a player he has been for 6 months then wemight aswell give up now.
Past 100 votes now, over 90% saying no.
The yes voters are very quiet. Anyone want to own up?!
I voted yes. Here's a copy and paste of my post from last Thursday from another thread.
And before jokes are made, yes, I have fully operational eyes, and yes, I have a season ticket.
"Adkins is trying to integrate youth into our first team, and to do so effectively you need players like Hammond, complete role models and professionals, to inspire them and aid their progress. I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to have players like this in the squad. Even if we signed him and he only played a handful of games, his contribution behind the scenes would more than make up for it.
People want to bring in young players instead of him, and that's all well and good, but you do need experience somewhere in the squad to get the most out of the young players and to guide them. Hammond is perfect for this, so why not him?
I understand that many people fail to see what he brings to the table, but there is far more to Dean Hammond than meets the eye, and he is worth every penny (and I'd be willing to wager that he would be on nowhere near the wages many on here seem to think should he sign permanently). It would be a bonus if he eventually took up a coaching role here, as he is exactly the sort of person we should be looking to have around the club."

What wages do you think he is worth ?
Reportedly on £22K at Leicester, I am guessing we are picking up half of that this Season
What do you think he will settle for next Season from SUFC ?
I would guess at the same £11K we pay him now
The thing is, if he signs he'll be a regular in the team. The wages he'll likely be on will dictate that.
Experience isn't that important if the younger players are strong characters, certainly in this league. Yes it can be important in a certain type of squad/team but you can't sign a player just because he's experienced if he's useless on the pitch.
We should be signing younger players of the right character, and one or two more experienced players who are, above all else, still good players.
Completely agree. It was obvious at Crewe first time I saw him and it hasn't really got any better.Absolutely, catagorically fucking not.
The biggest blunder we've made all season was signing this utterly useless pile of excrement. A more damaging move than having Sammon and Woolford combined.
Any rare attempt at positive movement on the pitch is snuffed out when this lumbering, haphazard cunt gets the ball. He should never, ever be allowed at this club again.
