Seen a lot of strong opinions on this subject today, people saying not only is he stuck in the past managerially but his behaviour casts a shadow on us as a club.

Do you personally think Wilder should go? Why? Why not?

Personally I wouldn't fancy us in the playoffs with anyone else. He needs to stay until the end of the season at the very least.

Even if he gets us up he's proven this season that he's not tactically savvy enough to play with the big boys. He can't get a tune out of his own players at the top of the Championship. He's also shown once again that when trusted with significant funds he wastes them on poor flops. There's no point keeping Wilder beyond this season regardless if we go up or not. Unfair? Perhaps. That's football. I'm sure he'll get over it £4mil richer down the local boozer with his mates.

Reluctantly agree, changing now would be counter productive

I guess the most important question is who could we realistically get to replace him?

I'm not saying we couldn't get an upgrade, just posing the question.

If I were Bettis/owners I'd want to sit down with him and have a brew and hear why it's fallen off a cliff and what he's going to do to put it right.

If it doesn't involve transitioning the ball quicker, getting Hamer and Rak Sakhi in one on one situations with full backs and then hitting the box at pace, then I'm afraid it's time we move on....

If he did go, it'd be a caretaker until after the playoffs. So likely Michael Collins or Jack Lester

If we'd been playing well in more games I'd be up for him staying. But we've amassed points in a lot of scrappy games where lady luck has smiled on us, without them we'd be about 9th. Too many baffling decisions regarding starting XI and substitutions and transfers. The play offs need to be taken seriously, it's a real opportunity and Wilder has lost my faith that he can take that opportunity. Seemingly he's lost the players faith too . Time to go.

Not disagreeing with you, but I hope they don’t ask “why it’s fallen off a cliff.” I hope they ask him why we’ve played the same dour sfuff all season and what he plans to do to make us a more effective attacking force. The problem is deeper than the last three games.

For those saying “not now wait until the end of the season”, why? He’s lost the dressing room and the fans. He cannot be here next season regardless of the playoffs so get him gone, bring in a caretaker and line up a quality manager for next season. I wouldn’t want the job now - too risky as you could be tainted if we get spanked out of it early.

Yes 100% and now. Ego maniac who should never have come back.

I actually hope we don't win the play offs, (not that we will even get to the final) as the thought of Wilder managing us in the Prem is terrifying and could set us back years

Let's hope the new owners realise that too and fire the bullet ASAP

In some ways, that would be the best answer he could give!! At least it would show self awareness and honesty - two traits which sadly seem to be lacking at he club outside of us 'punters'...

My view is we have four games left to prepare for the play off's, that's four games of the same owd or four games where someone with better tactical nous can lick these mostly very good players into a good attacking team that can win a three game mini cup competition. I'd be choosing someone new and handing CW his P45 on Monday morning.

I don’t think either option gets us promoted so we may as well let him finish the season. Would be nice if he fell on his sword and gave reasons in line with what we’ve seen (e.g. not able to motivate the players, lack of tactical awareness, poor track record of signing expensive flops). He won’t though so the board will have to make a brave decision to get rid of him if they decide to go down that route.

It’s important we move away from the Sheffield postcode requirement when employing a new manager if we want to build for the future. I have no idea who would be interested or who would be suitable apart from the obvious names, but asking someone to play differently would need a season to bed in, it’s whether we have that time with the parachute payments disappearing next summer.

I don’t get this no point changing manager now.
Based on the last three games does anyone actually have any faith that

A. We can beat the side that finishes 6th over two legs.
B. Win a one off game against someone like Sunderland or Bristol City at Wembley.

We have just been beaten by two poor sides and one average side (That we could actually face over two legs). You can't even say we were unlucky against the above three sides, we have just been really really poor.
Its not like we have been playing well before that either, we were lucky to get the win against a really poor Wednesday it could easily have been 0-0.

Wilder doesn't seem to have any plan B if teams get players back behind the ball, his plan is basically to just swap the strikers around.

If Wilder stays we are playing Championship football next season, infact I can't see us getting past the 1st game of the play offs.
At least if Wilder went we would have someone with fresh ideas, look at the turnaround Lampard had at Coventry, I'm not saying to get Lampard by the way.

The choice for me is keep Wilder then it's Championship football next season.
Get someone else have a slightly better chance of Premiership football.
Surely it's worth a roll of the dice with the prize that is on offer.

There's no one out there better than wilder who will take the job right now.

New owners aren’t daft they are here to make money not waste time in the championship.

They are also here to make us extremely sellable and Wilders arrogance and tactics are hindering all of these things.

Fully expect him gone at end of season.

No point now best to stick with what you know for last few games.

Wilder sadly doesn’t seem to have learnt from his past mistakes:

O Connell injured in PL - carried on playing same system without him and we got relegated
Souttar injured earlier this season. Carries on playing the solid defence tactic without the most solid defender

In both scenarios the player to come into the side was Jack Robinson - a liability

The new owners will want to know why, after giving wilder funds in January, their new £10m striker hardly plays and hasn’t scored.

I think wilder might be toast in May when we have been knocked out of the playoffs. US owners don’t tolerate failure and have no relationship or loyalty to wilder as the prince did.

I get where you’re coming from… but act in haste and repent at leisure for me.

They should be identifying a long term replacement for me and that might take time …

Someone similair to Slav who despite all the pelters was trying to change the culture of the club not just the 11 on the pitch.

As a club I think we are at a really important period … get it right and take some short term pain and we could become an established prem club.

Get it wrong and decide as of mediocracy will follow.
