just heard his interview on RS and i feel he wants to turn things round at the club he wants to bring the club back up.

he accepts responsibility for his signings but says they were made at short notice but after hearing him talk give him upto christmas
see where we are and build on it

come on you red and white wizards lets take league one by storm and win the JPT as well on the way

Give him time.

What he needs to do is build a side with a strong spine, then make us hard to beat, and when he has made us hard to beat, is then to encourage us to start playing the attractive football.

Winning ugly every week, is a lot better than playing attractive football and having a soft underbelly and getting rolled over every week. With the state this club was in when Micky Adams arrived, and the state it is still in, i think SoD would have been a disasterous appointment as the attractive football would have probably yielded a similar outcome to the season.

None of the above. He wont walk, as he wants a pay off. For me he'd see out this season and he'd be gone in the summer.

I still think there were better options in the lower leagues, we missed out on Howe but there are others.
Personally I'd ask Pembo who he'd recommend. Lets see if McCabe wants Adams to spend the money next year.

Next season there will be some money to spend but do you want it spent on the likes of Mrs Doyles and Collins.

I would give him more time, but I do think the board need to sit down with him and get his plan for the next two years and see if that matches their aims. If not then we should get rid and start fresh

Unless it's consecutive promotions using only free transfers, loans and Academy kids, it won't.

I don't think we'll need to sack him. He's been here long enough to see which way the wind is blowing and how little support he'll get. There's no way he'll be able to keep his phone answerer in chief for a kick off.Coupled with having to start the season as statistically the worst manager SUFC has ever had I think he'll realise he's the wrong man at the wrong time and walk. It will hurt him and he'll not easily get over it but the internal politics and power struggles that will ensue in the vacuum which now exists makes it a truly impossible club to run right now.

Sadly he's shown absolutely zero ability to make us a side that's hard to beat, never mind play attractive football.
Can't grasp the logic that a footballing manager like SOD could possibly have been more disastrous than what we've witnessed.
In general though, the only thing that matters is how is McCabe going to contend with huge losses which are now going to be made.
It's going to be another car crash summer regardless of who's in the hot seat.

We had someone doing that by the name of Blackwell, but he was hounded out, sometimes you just don't know what you had til it's gone!

Bollocks Norfolk. Blackwell had had three years backed by a wage bill which dwarfed most of the league and failed year on year.
Played mostly god awful football and then moaned abut his budget been cut.

Perversely after listening to his interview tonight, i now think he should be given til the end of the season, now that he said he's going to play a few of the dev squad and youngsters.

He said he would once we were down.

Wouldn't it be the cruellest thing if with half the squad made up of kids and reserves we win four and go down on goal difference?

If that happens then he should be given the boot just for sheer stupidity.

Go back to the original quote, about having a backbone and being hard to beat. We were. You can't judge him this season by 2 results against the teams who funnily enough, are now in the top 2 of our league. I'd happily put up with that rather than this current situation of being fucking relegated with no bastard fight whatsoever.

Personally i dont think they are all ready Slew in particular.

Im judging him on the previous couple of years, the shit football I'd watched and the 15 million wage budget he'd spunked

Which got us to the play off final, fair shout we didn't show up on the day, but it was a magnificent season, regardless of the playing style.

He should go, but not until the end of the season. What point is there having a caretaker in for the remaining games of the season that, lets be fair as we're down, matter little.

Great season based on spending well over what we could afford. On a 15 million budget we sould have been up, what was the excuse the next season? Only double the budget of the majority of the league?

A gamble that almost paid off, like most other teams in the same situation have tried.

There are no excuses, last season was a failure, but he should have been sacked shortly after the season ended if they were going to do so, and not 2 games into a season after having a whole pre-season and summer budget to play with, it was ludicrous management from the board, and boy are we paying the price now.

should be sacked he done nothing but tear the team with his loan signing and etc.

Loan signings were already happening before he arrived. Other than Reid none set us a light, Bartley wasn't bad but lets face it we were still shipping goals with him here. Noz was shit earlier on in season and still has been, Calve fizzled out very quickly after his wonder strike. Parrino didn't even get a game under Speed.

I voted for 2, but moved a step closer to 1 last night.

Why did Adams persist with the same team and the same back 4? Great that he brought Nos off and brought a youngster on, but it is way, way too late.

They probably cannot afford to sack Adams anymore.
If they could, one option might be to give Pembo til the end of the season to help nurse through playing some of the kids and take stock in the summer.

blackwell was a disaster waiting to happen.. everyone sensed it.. they could smell blood.. and the disaster has happened.. if not this year then next year.. you can't go on continually replacing players with ones that are slightly inferior.. seeing as the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.. if the parts are weak then the whole is even weaker.. leeds and luton both did exactly the same thing due to the legacy left by bootwell
