Should we have tried to sigh him?

Actually in comparison Grigg is a shit signing. Adkins wanted a right sided winger/midfielder and Woolford fits the role far better, Grigg is total bobbins as a wide player, poor at crossing and could never funnel back and help the full-back.

*can you see what I've done there? Can you see why you're taking a bit of flak for comparing apples and bricks?

Theres the previous 600 posts that go with it adding to the flakometer

I think we are all starting to get a complex about Wigan I truly believe that some of the ex premier league prima Donna s they have left in the squad won't fancy the battle I suspect their best will be play offs

Ill be honest. I dont give a shit about Grigg or Wigan. If they dont play for us why care?

Damn some are so sensitive it's pretty funny.

Didn't say a word about Sharp, all I said was that Wigan's signing compared to ours on this occasion makes ours look slightly underwhelming. That's all, if you disagree, fine but you don't need to get sensitive mate just chill and have a beer or something.
Why not? It's close season mate.

yeah I guess it does get a bit boring waiting for summat to happen. Think I might take a breather from here for a while till summat actually happens to get excited about.

Some posters have a craving to be overwhelmed rather than underwhelmed.

Rather the heroic footballer who can do tricks, bang the ball in the onion bag, and generally receive the bulk of the plaudits. It's simply not enough to recognise the need for the underwhelming teammate, the player who scraps, does the untidy tradesman's job, and allows the hero the chance to put the icing on cake while a hair never goes out of place.

The player we'll all refer to as whatsisname, Mr. Invisible, 'Oi, you'.....whereas the hero, well he'll grab the headlines, be referred to as a Blades' ace, and seek a move as soon as his agent arranges the details. But not to worry, there'll always be a dullard that no one appreciates, or even understands the importance of.

Brilliant that pal, shame we aren't in the Championship.

I'd rather sign proven Championship players than proven League 1 players.
They've only played at League 1 level for a reason.

That's why, despite Griggs exploits last season and 3 seasons ago, Sharp will be a better signing than Grigg. Because he can do it at a higher level. For an example of players blossoming in LG1 but not higher up see Ched Evans. Another comparison would be Norwich's willingness to sell Hooper, a player they feel will be of no use to them whilst they're in the Premiership. Just as Grigg is no use to Brentford in the Championship.

Grigg is a very good player in this division but that's it. I would be happy with us signing him but as previously stated would prefer Sharp as if we get promoted, we know Sharp can do it in the league above too.

If we sign Sharp he will score more than Grigg this season... Foxy/Linz - you can sticky that.

We are all blades on here aren't we ???
Yes it's pre season and posters don't have much to go on but is it not possible to just give a view on the OP without getting all clever ?
I saw it as a simple perfectly valid question ... To be fair we might have tried to sign him who knows?? We might be waiting for sharp .. Who knows ..
I like will grigg and would have been delighted with him - honestly don't know much about woolford.
It will all come good I am sure but agree with some of the previous posters Wigan are really going for it.
I may be p***ing into the wind here but can't we all just try and be ok with each other ??
