And I completely understand. If I was attending the match with young girls in tow, I'd certainly think twice about singing it myself.

Just know that when I do sing it, I'm not out to disrespect anybody. It's just exaggerated laddish bravado. I couldn't be more removed from that sort of behaviour if I tried.

I’ve said it a million times on here. I don’t want to see the song cancelled, just don’t sing it in-front of the kids…

The mother in law though…..

it is obviously misogynistic

Why ?

Is 'drinking your beer' misogynistic also if that beer was brewed or served by a female ?

Having sex and drinking beer has no normal connection to misogyny. it is just a word promoted by the media and others to stir up a discourse.

Would you be happier if the words were, drinking 'your' still mineral water and eating 'your' prawn sandwiches ? or is it the use of the word your, implying ownership.

Or is it that by implication the whole song is about one set of fans dominance over another, in which case all football songs should be banned.

In fact football should be banned, as it is about winners and losers.

It has already started in schools where the winner of the egg and spoon race is no longer lauded as the 'winner'.

Maybe in future two sets of football teams will enter the pitch, shake hands and be pronounced as equal, and all teams will finish the season as equal, on an equal number of points.

'Love your women and drink you beer' simples
These are the words I use when my daughters are in earshot.

But is loving your women wrong as well? "ignore all women just drink your beer because it's 2023"

It’s not about being offended. It’s about showing respect to my young daughters.
I also have 2 young daughters. Granted we don't go to the games but when when I've come home jolly in the past after a win, I've been known to pick them up and sing it. Just change shag to kiss. They're incredibly damaged by it and have had excessive PTSD counselling. Boo hiss boo

This is actually the way the world is going.

You clearly don't think women are equal or should be treated equally at football grounds do you?

Having sex is normal, but the song isn't about having sex it's about 'shagging YOUR WOMEN'

It's a song that belongs in the history books.

And just for example, you don't hear any racist football chants nowadays. They've all magically disappeared. Maybe the sexist ones can as well?

What & when was the last racist chant you heard at BDTBL?

Maybe "shit on the bastards below" should be thrown into the history books as well since we stopped defacing like animals since the invention of the hole in the ground?

Let's see how far, and how silly, we can take this, eh...?

I don’t know why so many posters have a problem with/not understand what I’m saying. My daughters are under 10, why the fuck would I sing it infront of them? No problem with anyone else singing it, treat yourself.

I don't sing it in front of em. I change the words. I do have it on a t-shirt though 😁

It is obviously a bit offensive as like many are saying you wouldn't sing it in front of kids would you?

To be honest any song with swears in it, head the fucker back for example is problematic in front of kids.

Remember the first time I took my lads to Bramall lane when they were 6 & 8, and the bloke behind me shouted "snap the cunts legs in half".

"Don't repeat that at home ok. What you hear at football stays at football" became my mantra.
To be honest, these days once they get that Xbox headset on all bets are off. That gamer chat is next level filth 😂

What & when was the last racist chant you heard at BDTBL?

Probably about 20 years ago it was regular to hear the “town full of….” chant when we played Leicester and Bradford. There was also the homophobic chants when we played Brighton.

It's "shag YOUR women", which is the possessive. It's YOUR beer , because you bought it. It treats women as second class citizens and just belongings of men. It's pathetic and shouldn't be near our club in 2023.

But then there are a very vocal set of fans who think rape is ok, so what do you expect?
How does your wife feel about it?

Wtf you on about rape? Lost the plot there mate.

After the SF v Hull a bunch of twattish blades were singing it full on in the tube back to the car, while leering aggressively at my daughter. It's disgusting. I've never been ashamed to be a blade but I was then.
Grow up and find some more appropriate words to sing. It's a great sound but these words need replacing.

Having sex is normal

Not to Catholics, sex is only for procreation not pleasure.
Though plenty of priests preach such, but practice somewhat differently.

You clearly don't think women are equal

Whereas you have obviously been brainwashed by all the media/woke/me too propoganda.

What do think about my idea of having no 'winners' in football, in order that we can all claim perfect equality ?

As a point of order, the thread asks if it’s misogynistic rather than sexiest. The former term implies hatred so is too strong here. But the lyric is certainly sexist.

It’s also notable that nobody has replied saying they’re offended by it. It gets sung, some people skip it, some don’t. Some think it’s inappropriate, some don’t.
Agreed the chant isn't misogynistic as it definitely doesn't apply a strong hatred of women. However it is about context, personally I don't chant the song as I would be in the category that go to games and sit in a library (apart from GCB) and chat about the match to my mates. However if I did chant that chant it would only be in the ground and I imagine the majority of people wouldn't chant it at work!

Those moments whilst hopefully rare spoil a good day out. Hope your daughter is still a blade.

Seams like most people dont like the ending. Are we going to change the song ? I seem to remember boxing day being changed to bouncing day.
