I suggest you are talking nonsense just because it suits your agenda, you seem to have swallowed the 500k bit as well, again because it suits, several posters yesterday were telling us it was nowhere near that figure, but you are not interested in that are you?
Well aren't you an aggressive fellow? Is this simply because I don't appear to agree with you opinion on this particular matter?

I quoted £500,000 because that is what is claimed within the piece I was talking about, and it was the only price I've seen claimed by independent professionals, rather than fans posting an as yet unsubstantiated figure. If you have a neutral source then I would give it more weight.
Can I also ask about what my agenda is? I don't believe I had one, apart from the fact that this deal doesn't make logical sense and as a fan of the club I can question it - can't I?

Why are you getting your knickers in a twist about something a known critic of SUFC has written? He talks shit and will continue to do so where we are concerned, to try and paint us as a pariah club, whereas his beloved 'Ammers are the salt of the Earth.

Nobody is spending £500,000.

Why do you want to keep rumours like this going? Just enjoy the end of the season, then see what comes out later after we have had chance to assess his injury.
I'm not the one getting overly excited nor keeping any rumors going, I'm saying him comment hold up against logic, given the information currently available.
Can I ask how you know nobody is spending £500,000, as I mentioned yesterday this figure, plus the fact that he's not a proven Championship player, are the major reasons the deal smells a bit odd?

So why Sheffield United would recruit the bottom club's goal-shy striker is a mystery,

That in a nutshell is what I can't get my head around, a player who had one good season in the 3rd tier, was hardly prolific in the Championship, mediocre season this year, five years older and appears to have a recurring injury problem. If it happens I can't wait for CW interview explaining the reasoning behind the signing, unless this a sign of the player investment to come hope not.

The convention here is to use the English language where possible with words arranged in an ineligible order.

RS have stirred it and you have bought it as a 100% nailed on fact.

Why not look at a few other 'facts'?
-The transfer window isn't open so we can't sign him until 1/6 earliest.
-United have not made any fanfare about this 'new' signing which is unusual to say the least, if a deal had been done.
-He scored 10 goals for Norwich and 13 for us in the Championship (plus 1 in the Prem). What is your definition of 'proven'?

If you are 'not the one keeping the rumours going', then you ought to consider changing your day job.

"That part of the ground is now named the Redbrik Estate Agency Stand — it was never more than an opportunist gimmick to involve Ennis-Hill, anyway — so is no longer an issue"

I sense this chap still has a bit of a downer on us.
And WE are told to get over it.

Yeah, yeah we all hate him. He's a cunt and all that. None of that is denied but the above comment is valid. It was a cheap and opportunist chance to cash in. No one really argued this at the time so in the spirit of playing the post rather than the poster perhaps some should actually read what he has said. It doesn't appear biased, nor would I say it is anything other than another opinion to add to the pile. He is a journalist and this is his job.

I read the article and had no real beef with it.

Got it in one. Being the Mail's Chief Sports Writer, Fatboy has every sport in every country on the planet to write about, but chooses to continue his obession with the Blades (which goes back to the Warnock period). Where I think he is right is the it was never more than an opportunist gimmick to involve Ennis-Hill, anyway bit. It was an ill-judged bit of bandwagon-jumping by McCabe, for a bitch who has no connection with us whatsoever. But while Fatboy is playing the 'poor little innocent St. Jess of Ennis' card, she could have turned it down and chose not to. But, as we know, she'd promote anything if it added to her ill-deserved fortune. If she thought the Chedgate saga would harm her carefully-cultivated 'brand', she apparently had no such qualms about the utterly-venal Santander.

A bitch? Really? Think this is way over the top.

A bitch? Really? Think this is way over the top.

Totally over the top and uncalled for.

Not the first time I've taken issue with him over his abuse of her either.

Think she must have spurned his advances at school or something equally as heinous....

Out of interest, to anybody who reads the mail, has fatty Samuel posted anything positive over the last few weeks about how well we have been playing?

Oh so you don't believe this is happening? OK fair enough. I personally have no idea, I'm just debating the information which has been provided, which I thought was the point of forums and half the fun of following a football team. Back to this particular subject I just don't understand the logic of the deal which has been presented so I'm questioning it. Yes I've already made these points, I happily conceed that point, but others are asking me to explain them or are challenging them and in all honesty I don't see how that differs from what you are doing, apart from I'm not being grumpy about it. My points aren't being answered or addressed so I the same concerns remain.
Half of this forum is speculating on what could, possibly, maybe, be happening surrounding our club But I think if you are honest you just have a problem with people having a different view to you on this particular topic, hence why there is a lot of aggression here for anyone who doesn't understand why we'd be looking at this deal.

Happy to leave it there until the deal is confirmed, although at that point I would assume there would be no point discussing it because it will have already happened?

"Unfairly, Sheffield United have been putting out better teams than their opponents and - in the 21st Century believe it or not - playing "better" football and scoring more goals than them. Unbelievable, but that's McCabe and Warnock for you.
Meanwhile, as poor West Ham struggle in their tax payer funded Stadium - raided today by HMRC, a branch of McCabes Evil Skull Island based Scarborough Group - there is still the question mark over Steve Kabba's transfer... .... "

Continued forever

Just add a bit about 'mysterious Muslim co-owner', how West Ham won the World Cup and some made up shit immigrants and that's his Mail column for the next ten years (which is all that's required as 90% of Mail readers will have died of old age by then).

Much as I detest the man, he at least does raise the question some of us have considered which is, why? No I don't want a debate about it. It's covered by "it's a gamble that may or may not pay off apparently".

'Cus Wilder wants him.

He's not fannying about.

He's still a twat though ;)

I'm aware that makes me shallower than a puddle of worm piss, but that is a facet of mine I made my peace with a long time ago :)

Did you see him in that season ? He was unplayable ,a very good player ,so we know he has the ability ,we have better backroom staff and facilities than Chesterfield plus a whole 4 months to work with him ( IF we are signing him ). He hasn't had a major injury it is just fitness . We have a great hungry player if this is handled right.

the same man wrote the article only a football crowd would applaud a rapist
However since labelling him a rapist back then I dont recall him in the interest of fairness retracting calling him a rapist since he was cleared

until he accepts he was cleared any views from him are badly tainted by prejudice
hes making judgements not in line with the new facts

He's a racist as well? what a twat.

I don't see how that differs from what you are doing, apart from I'm not being grumpy about it.

I've posted on about a thousand different threads that we WON'T sign him unless he's fit and that it is what CW wants and not a KMc deal.
Sorry if I was overly grumpy with you, but three days on and people are still taking the RS 'facts' as gospel and posting tripe.

Oh so you don't believe this is happening?

See above. Not unless he passes a fitness test and not for £500k, which AFAIAA is a nice round number plucked out of the sky.

Happy to leave it there until the deal is confirmed, although at that point I would assume there would be no point discussing it because it will have already happened?

I'm sure that when/if it does happen, there will plenty more discussion. Plenty more.

Given I've now lost the will to live, this is my last* post on this subject.

* My word is my Eurobond, as a certain Mr A Daley was fond of saying.

He is older, years out of football, didn't score goals for fun in the Championship, believe the injury is a heel problem. hasn't it kept him out for 8 weeks. Didn't he have a full preseason for Chessy for me not worth the hassle, hopefully the fee isn't anywhere near £500 thousand, while at Championship level it isn't a huge amount it is still a wedge for us and CW has repeatedly said he wont pay over the odds, IMO that is well over.

its drivel like this that bothers me
a cw is the sole recruiter of players
b the board has absolutely no part in the selection , just ok ing the funds

so why write we must question it, we must question chris wilder ,,, really

it should have stopped after the first line , then it would have been good journalism

all thats needed to be said

funny .. i agree with him :D it was embarrasing for all involved .. Jess' halo has slipped a bit since she teamed up with Santander though
